Genuine question as some are calling for Hughes's head. What would a new manager do differently?

Sparky will keep us in the big money league. Football goes bump, get rafa in, suddenly we're near the top as the only premier league team to survive then we beat nottingham forest, one of a number of clubs(including, leeds, boro, wednesday, villa) deservedly back in the big time 5-1 to secure the premier league title.
In an ideal world

More pertinently, would another manager have done better with players that he brought to the club such as Berahino, Joselu, Bojan, Muniesa, Moha, Bony, Johnson, Given, Wollscheid, Haugaard, Ireland.
At least Wimmer and Jesé look the real deal😜

He can do well as he did v Arse and shit team looked committed and organised but it seems to slip way too easily. We can't play unless we defend deep and play on the break . Have to break a team down or play a high line and we look poor very poor.

this high line is the downfall,we have just not got any pace at the back to play that way, this is where the straight long pass is doing us,its a shame the coaching staff do not see it that way.

+ excellent at attracting players to the club. + Seems well respected by the players.
- Tactically seems very naive. - Set pieces are dreadful. - Likes a square piece in a round hole.
For me he'd be a decent director of football. For me we need a top coach who's good at coaching / motivational.

We have some deluded fuckwits masquerading as Stoke fans. We have lost to a team from the championship, is that such a surprise?
Get real! no so called big manager will come to manage us. We are nothing better than a make weight club in the premier league, who can shock a few of the bigger team on our day, there are others that do the same thing.
MLH is about as good a manager as we're going to attract. Just like the players. If they were as good or as consistent as we would like they would be playing for a bigger club, simple as!
I am as pissed of as the next fan after tonight loss and like most realistic fans I am desperate for a cup run, because we know we are not good enough over the season to actually win the league. MLH and the team have failed to deliver what we all wanted tonight so let's have a good old rant, get over it and get behind the team on Saturday.
I have never been a big MLH fan but look where the teams are that keep changing their managers after a few bad results, most are below us or in a lower league.
Coates will call time on the manager when he thinks the time is right, or perhaps MLH will walk. Until then support our team or go glory hunting!

Genuine question as some are calling for Hughes's head. What would a new manager do differently? Genuine answer tricky.. I don't think it will be just you asking that question. Because now we are out of the one real chance of trophy glory I reckon Mr Coates will be getting a bit squeaky. If we are bobbing about in the bottom five at Christmas I think Sparky will be on his way.

Rafa, he'd leave Newcastle for us I'm sure I thought that until they played us off the park with a team he feels is not good enough for this league. What does that tell him and any other manager about what is available at Stoke? I keep hearing Stoke City is a happy club, with a good team spirit and a good dressing room. Perhaps it's just a tad too comfortable here?

It's probably a massive headache for Coates and co he stuck with him at the end of last season but didn't readily shovel cash his way this summer so he must have had a little hesitancy. Now the same old performances are playing out again in a similar scenario yet who else is available.
I can see he'd love Rafa but he won't pay the compo to get him even with the lure of a Prem club closer to Rafa Wirral home and with a little more money to spend.
So the dilemma will play out until it becomes too uncomfortable and our Premier league survival is at stake.
So for me Hughes is safe now but he's got to learn from his mistakes fast, zonal marking doesn't work, practice set plays, defensive work, get two up top with Berahino as one of a two maybe him and Choupa and for fucks sake stop being so pig headed and one dimensional!!'

Genuine question as some are calling for Hughes's head. What would a new manager do differently?Drop players out of form would be nice, like Hughes started to do in the first season then gave it up, its still early though, 10 games and its worth discussing if we still look a state.

Why is it Hughes' fault we lost today?
To me, and I wasn't there so cant really comment outside my radio feed, but seems to me the players need to held accountable, not the manager..

It might be a bit strong but isn't it a bit delusional to think we could attract a so called big manager? That's my point. We have form for losing to championship sides because we are not consistent, so no surprise when we do! That's because we have inconsistent players because they would be with bigger clubs if they weren't. I agree with people having a rant and moan, but if they they aren't capable of understanding and can't or won't carry on then they should go elsewhere. Plenty of room down the vale. Calling for a new manager when things don't go our way turns us into Villa, Birmingham, Leeds, Derby, there's more, mostly in the championship. We have to trust that those in charge will no when to call it a day or Hughes walks, whichever comes first.

This particular manager is responsible for what we have so it's up to him to get the best out of them. No strikers is a particular worry, though, it has to be said.

Continuation of this sort of thing of a period of time? If he can't motivate his players to want to win this game then that's an issue with him.
