its what the loony lefties have allways done. it will never happen but the murdoch regime love this kind of thing, still saves them having to research something jc said 30 years ago to fill their pages. and yet the country continues its downward spiral gb pound now worth 1.09 euros

The new Nazis. Language restricted... Books altered... History changed... If history is wrong (not saying it is or isn't in this case), isn't it correct that it's changed? Sometimes history is wrong, and to change it to a more accurate reflection of the times is correct.

In America they destroy statues of those they consider to be implicit in slavery,, which might be valid if if wasnt for the fact that it was those that became Democrats were the biggest slave owners while the republicans abolished it, yet these protesters are more likely to be democrats.

Yup, the two blue circles are most definately the problem areas when it comes to slavery/racism. We should guilt trip & punish the people who live there forever more... But only the white people who live there. The people who come from Africa, the Middle East & the Sub-continent should never have to be ashamed of anything. They've never been racist or owned slaves, not in the past, and certainly not in modern times. No siree.

The truth is the truth and it can never be altered only bent to fit in with peoples agendas.
The recent Dunkirk film shows that some people will not be happy with the truth and would go to any lengths to lie about the past to fit their agendas.
I might add that if this country is so bad why do people keep coming here? No one forces them to come , it is the case that only we are stupid enough to tolerate them.

Sometimes history is wrong, and to change it to a more accurate reflection of the times is correct. It's not that history is wrong, but that it is often incomplete. As we all know, history is written by the victors, but the losers have a story to tell too and it must be right to allow that story to be heard. Obviously, that doesn't mean ripping down Nelsons Column or anything approaching that, but in order to gain a balanced view of history the losers side should be heard, even if you then choose to dismiss or disregard it.

What a load of tosh.
Nelsons Columb had nothing to do with slavery, but was built to commenerate one of if not the greatest sea battles and victory's of all time.
This single naval engagement, against all odds changed the course of history, and the map of Europe for all time.
Napolian had amassed a large army on the N Coast of France, and was preparing to be the first invaders of our Isles since 1066. Fortunately for us the ships he needed to carry them across the channel were well and truly skuppered off a small insignificant headland between Cadiz and Gibralter. CAPE TRAFALGAR.
Ps Great Britain abolished slavery some 100 or more years before the US, who had to have one of the bloodiest civil wars in history to resolve it. Some are still, unfortunately, continueing to carry on fighting it today.

You've lost me on that one. I watched the film, can you kindly explain your reasoning behind your statement. Not being confrontational at all, just interested in your line of thinking.

I think we should keep the statues on the proviso that they're made more gender-neutral. Churchill from now on should be referred to as 'Winnie'.

Why not destroy all war related structures while we are at it, let's just forget the sacrifices made by millions of people to serve and protect their country , after all we seem to be in the process of allowing our country to be invaded and conquered while we sit back and apologies for absolutely anything that might upset liberal left wing sops.

The whole world was touched in one way or another by slavery . You can't just airbrush out history by destroying statues and monuments. Where does it stop , Tissington hall , was built on the proceeds of slavery as was I suspect many historical buildings.

There's been a few articles about the whiteness of the cast and there being no soldiers of colour, a particular funny article by a dumbass american claiming the film didn't recognise the contribution of african american soldiers like his uncle or grandfather or something even though it is set 18 months before america became involved..........

Indeed this is exactly what I was referring to also the U571 film where Americans were painted as the heroes who captured the Enigma machine is another example of airbrushing history to fit an agenda.
When you read the truth of history it is often different from popular myth as an example Captain Bligh gets a particularly bad rap from the film makers.
For me it's now getting personal. My great Uncle Arthur was at Dunkirk and D Day ( a man who helped raise me) trying to rewrite who was there to fit with a political correctness agenda is offensive.
I don't care if the people who were there were green and pink and had sex with elephants just as long as it's the TRUTH.

Recently the politically insane Stephen Fry re named Guy Gibsons dog digger in the dam busters film to avoid upsetting people why ?
