Not sure of the side but my thinking would be:
Don't experiment for its own sake - we need a cup run. Have some first teamers on the bench to bail us out if required. One or two youngsters - but don't go overboard.
Give Grant a game - he deserves it after last years heroics and he's not a risk.
Give Bruno a start to settle him back in.
Give Bojan an opportunity to show he can compete with the new comers as a first choice,
Give Ramadan a game to help his development and make him feel part of the setup.
Give Berahino a chance to break his competitive duck and build his confidence.
Don't play Imbula or Wooly - they're goners.

I think you have to try and give game time to Grant, Johnson, BMI, Tymon, Adam, Ramadan, Bojan, Crouch. I'd give Berahino a chance to get a confidence boosting goal.

An experimental/less used forward line back by a solid defence, just in case.

Anyone driving south on the M40 after the game? No trains running at that time of night. I'm happy to contribute petrol money.

Draw for the next round if we make it is at 4:15am on Thursday morning in China so set your alarms.
It's all a far cry from the days when Alan Hardaker and Bert Millichip used to fiddle with their ball bags in BBC Television studio in Wood Street.

Thought there was only 10000 seats or something?? It's a home game mate. True but they've got the full southstand {not the corner I don't think though} And it's only the Boothen and posh/dug out side open. What was the Novus ain't open I don't think. Whatever, there'll be plenty of seats still available. So will it be around 15,000 Stoke capacity?

We actually seem to be settling onto a plan with three at the back, so why are so many people picking a back four in their suggested teams? Because we haven't got the CBs to make enough changes for 3 at the back. Souttar playing today only magnifies that.

My logic would be to rest Zouma and Ryan from this one. }Stuck between a tough workout saturday and WBA next.} And because why break that system continuity so soon? The 3 thing has proved effective in tournaments, I was hoping he'd use it in Cups, front foot. I was gutted we didn't use it against Wolves, we'd played some good stuff using it in the run up to that match. I reckon he'll stick.

Wolly is leaving so shouldn't come in to contention. Souttar played yesterday. That leaves no one.

Sorry if this has already been posted but does anybody know if it's pay on the turnstiles tomorrow night or do you have to buy tickets in advance?

Berahino must surely play. If he could just bag a couple against weak opposition it would give him a big confidence boost to add to the little one that Saturday's assist will have given him. We all know what strikers are like scoring goals leads to more goals.

He gets through a lot of football on average for us and it's a good chance to rest him.

Ideally I agree, I just don't see the need/logic in going back to back4 so soon and against such opposition that's all. A chance to concentrate on the attacking aspects of the system to compliment the 5 defensive side of it last sat. Zouma's full bore, and perhaps needs careful managing/protecting from himself a bit.

Mark bowen has said we'll line up as strong as possible and Jese and Choupo may be involved. Surely we've got to give game time to the likes of Grant, Ramadan and Tymon?
