That's good, I was worried about Zouma, it seemed a strange point in the game to make a tactical substitution. He did take a knock in the first half, bad enough to get some treatment on the sidelines but he seemed OK at the end. He's very deceptive you'd not imagine he can shift when you see him plodding around looks really heavy legged.

I thought adam ran the show and bojan was a solid 7/10?? Sobhi played very well The two passes Charlie slid in for young Josh were world class.Thats from pitch side not on a pc. Charlie's threaded pass down the left towards the Boothen was utterly brilliant - worth the admission alone.

Bojan couldn't be arsed but to say Adam was dreadful is clearly high end arse gravy. He looked to play the ball forward and made some good incisive passes. He misplaced a few passes true but he was always looking to be positive. Sohbi played well but still had the manager shaking his head a few times. He needs to cut out the flicks. Thought Allen played well in the first half. Tymon got better and better and Verlinden came on and added some good urgency. The only disappointment for me was the peripheral wandering by Bojan, for much of the game. It seemed like he was chasing the action most of the time. Really hope he perseveres but it will take time and character.

Thought Adams range of passing was superb last night, just a shame he's not 5 years younger! Thought Bojan started ok but still looked too lightweight, dithered on the ball too much and really faded last 30 mins of game and didn't look that arsed to be honest by the end. Tymon looked a bit shaky to start with but got better as game went on and his chip over the keeper that hit the crossbar was quality. Good night overall. Shite draw though for fans but should still give us a good chance of going through.

Did not go tonight so took in the coverage from radio Stoke. Mike Pejic who can be very critical, said Adam had a excellent game I'm more convinced than ever that he was bollocks then! Seems you are on your own with this one Bayern....It's agenda riddled bollox and you can do better than this.

Rare for Stoke City to win and me to be critical but IMO Rochdale were a poor lightweight team and they should be grateful of the 4-0 result. I was disappointed with the performances of a number of the Stoke Senior players. Charlie looked way off the mark and no where fit enough. Crouch wasn't far behind him. I am sad for Bojan but he will struggle to get into Stoke's best eleven. His lack of pace was there to clearly see. I expected far more from Ramadan and he just not create enough and I expected more of a cutting edge. I thought Verlinden showed far more in his little cameo. Allen had a super first half and had a hand in the three goals. If not for him we had not enough cutting edge. There was a distinct lack of pace when going forward. A major positive was the clean sheet. This boosts confidence. Zooma and Indi will really solidify our back three. Another new centre half of quality would be a good thing for the squad. Fucking hell. So you aren't happy with scoring 4 and creating a lot of chances but a 'major positive' for you is a clean sheet against a Rochdale who you've just said were poor? Christ. Zouma is just a mountain Indi and Wollscheid both did what was needed Adam looked off it first half but did well second half - wouldn't have him near MOTM but each to their own Allen bombed on well and got his goals, that's what I'd like to see him do but not from a No.10 role Fletcher looked composed when he came on Pieters did well but Rochdale let him have the right wing to himself pretty much Tymon looked really good going forwards Sobhi looked a cut above all game to me, considering his age. Makes things look easy and to say he wasn't creative enough is rubbish Crouch was Crouch, a pain in the arse and always good for a goal in that sort of game Bojan was disappointing. A good ball for Pieters to set up Allen but he just looked as off it as he has done for a while Good to see Verlinden and Souttar get minutes. Neither looked out of place but Rochdale were about as bad as I have probably ever seen a team, especially defensively. The gulf between the two teams was huge, which was encouraging to see.

I expected Stoke to win easily and the result says they did. My criticism was targeted at certain senior players in terms of the question " Are these players capable of having an impact in a good Premier League team?" In terms of that there is no way I saw Charlie, Crouch or Bojan being able to have an impact!!! If they played in the first eleven we would be staring relegation in the face. All three are devoid of pace which severely limits our offensive capabilities. If Hughes played a similar team at Bristol City I believe the outcome would be nowhere as simple as last night.

Apart from 3 or 4 players, I doubt anyone expects or Hughes plans to use players like Lee, Wolly, Adam, Bojan, Crouch as regular 1st team starters. Therefore it is a cheap shot to say this team would be staring relegation in the face. If this was our first team, I doubt if there is a single fan that would not agree that relegation is on the cards. However, it's not. So cheer up and enjoy a good win. What did you expect, an 8-0 win?

You seem unable to comprehend the point I am trying to make. It is now the window and these players need to be moved on and replaced with younger fitter players who can push our first team. I would have much preferred to see someone like Tyrese Campbell instead of Crouch after half time for example. How many other clubs have been knocking the door down for Adams, Crouch, Wollsheid and Bojan. This tells me clearly that we need to be on our front foot and not resting on our laurels!

It's so easy. I suggest you apply for the manager's position. But it's still crappy to say that team would be staring relegation in the face, so would the u-19 team. What's that got to do with anything, but hey, in your opinion you're making a point - so have at it, moan away even after our B team pulled off a good win. ME, i'm happy Stoke won!

I've usually approached cup games against lower league opponents with a bit of trepidation. I try to tell myself that class always shows and we'll be fine - but deep down I know (from our record over the years) that things don't always go to plan and that Stoke City do have a charitable streak in them when it comes to gifting wins to lower league opponents. Games like our defeat to Blyth Spartans are still as fresh in the mind as they were the day after it happened. Time does not heal the wounds. So, I was very encouraged by our display against Rochdale. If I had to complain about anything it would be that our dominance should have produced an even more emphatic win. But, bearing in mind that when things can go wrong with Stoke, they often do, Wednesday's game was a great confidence boost. A number of fringe players did their prospects no harm at all and the regular starters for the first team should not get complacent, as they will face more competition for places this season than has been the case for a while.

What really rubs the salt into the wound is when some bog average team staggers through into the final and we are left to rue that stupid defeat against <insert name of mediocre team here>.
