We already knew that Butland is probably the best keeper in the league.
We knew Fletcher had a touch of class -if not for his illness he would have run Man Utd´s midfield for a season or two. Today he class, particularly first half.
Did we know Zouma was such a beast? Chelsea have dropped a real bollock sending this lad out on loan. Today he showed the potential to be a top, top player.

It was a great team effort, but these 3 stood out in terms of individual performances. Jack was his usual superb self. Zouma performs how we know he can (and you get a feeling he'll be a brilliant player for us this season). Fletcher is the class in midfield we've been missing. My concern is that he simply won't be able to play every game for us. But I'm parking that thought for the moment and just basking in the glory of grinding out a 1-0 win against The Arse.

Yeah, and a good number of WBA fans thought he ran out of steam last season and should have been dropped after being superb the first half or so. I just doubt at his age he'll be able to play 40+ games for us and perform at the level he did today. Great if he can of course!

A fantastic team performance. Yes, Zouma, Butland, Choupo-Moting were great but other players who sometimes get it in the neck; Joe Allen chasing and harrying, Pieters...solid and good runs forward ...and a great cross! Cameron.. disciplined, secure. Even Berahino... a confident step over or two and a perfect pass to make the goal. I hope Coatesy watched that, thought of Robbie Savage and laughed himself sick. Great!

Very impressed with him but him but him and Allen need help in there. I didn't detect that at all today despite Arse having obvious qualities. They didn't dominate midfield their main threat was knocking it wide for a runner. Which didn't work for them either. They are one of the best teams, we won't face many sterner tests this season. With this more fluid play/system we can swamp midfield too. Ktf.

Didn't think he was at his best tbh, gave the ball away a few times and fell for a faint or two, not trying to be negative just thought he wasn't one of the best, but saying that he did make some good tackles etc.

Thought he did ok but no more. We're still in need of that beast to replace N'Zonzi.

Very impressed with him but him but him and Allen need help in there. erm na not at all. We held our own in the middle - they had zero options despite having 70% possession. They were forced wide with aimless diagonal crosses. Arsenal are a great team but we limited their options today

First half he was fantastic. 2nd half I though he was very sloppy and gave balls away uneccessarly which lead to us inviting pressure. However the lad gave his all all you can clearly see he's a huge upgrade on whelan

a couple of sloppy passes in the first half and got caught in possession a couple of times, once he got that out of his system he played well

Did very well but struggled to pass to one another for most of the second half after the goal. Still need a centre forward with size and speed and reasonable touch. Chopper seems like he can play there and do a decent job though.

I think through the season he will prove to be a great signing.

After being initially nonplussed about his arrival, he's such an huge improvement on Whelan (no dislike of Glenn at all here) He is so much better at pressing the ball, reading the play and passing forward. only downside today was he got caught on the ball 3 or 4 times, not sure if thats an ongoing thing or just a team that presses so hard in MF like Arsenal do.
