A piece in the Guardian today about Huddersfield. Mostly boring, but Mr and Mrs Ankers, why would you?
Wayne Ankers, the editor of the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, thinks the town has to stop obsessing. “We shouldn’t be thinking about Leeds. We’ve got to put our own stamp on things. It’s a problem for Leeds not us.”

It's like calling your kids Tiger Lilly, or Peaches, although that doesn't seem so odd nowadays.

I knew one of two twins who worked at Consett steelworks, who obviously had parents with a sense of humour.
The twin I knew was called Stan Dover.
His twin brother was Ben.
(Not a word of a lie.)

The wife worked in a prison with an officer called Mike Hunt and used to love calling him on the radio:
"Mike Hunt, Mike Hunt, come in Mike Hunt"
And a prisoner was sick of calling the screws sir he changed his last name to Sir so they had to call it him 😬

Does anyone remember obscure Stoke trialist Ivor Hunt? Caused a few guffaws in the crowd when he came on as a sub. Similar childish laughing also greeted the inclusion of Shittu and Doudou in the same QPR team, I think Doudou was number two as well
