I was absolutely slaughtered on here for criticising him on here. His attitude at times was disgraceful. Yes he could be exciting at times but his overall contribution in games was woeful. When he was closely marked in a game he was totally anonymous and failing to beat a player he'd go to ground throwing his arms in the air berating the ref instead of getting off his arse and getting on with it. He was shown up to in the Euro's where he hardly had any impact in the Austrian side. He's not as good as he thinks he is and I for one wont miss him.

He can talk about self sufficiency all he fucking likes, until teams around us start doing the same we are going to struggle to get players we really need. I get the idea, but in this horrible verminous greed ridden cess pit of absolutely no loyalty, cash is fucking king! H I totally agree. Whilst making a stand is laudable it will end only in one way. We simply arnt coming from a strong enough Base to make it happen.

It'll be interesting to see where we prioritise. We do seem to have 5 gaping holes - RB, CB, CM, WING, STR. I'm not concvinced Delph's what we need, although I think he's a good player. But he seems pretty baked-in to what we're going to do. Dream scenario would be something like: BMI 12 Delph 12 Winger 12 Striker 20 RB 12 with £12m pretty much the par for any worthwhile signing these days! And a big premium on any striker with 2 legs Like you say, the chances of us spending £70m this summer are small, so decisions are going to have to be made. So you don't think that Diouf could be your striker or R(W)B or both :-) Wingers/wide men Sobhi, Shaq, Verlinden, Ngoy, Diouf. It's possible - but Hughes' view on Diouf seems to change with the wind. I like him as a proper option up front, but not wide, where he's just a sticking plaster and absolute definition of 'doing a job'. And the other thing with Diouf is his contract situation. He and Shawcross are the only ones that we've made no apparent moves to re-contract. Suppose it depends if you think Sobhi is ready to step up and be one of our absolute main men (I'm really not sure on that one) and whether Verlinden is good enough to have an impact from the bench. Again, I've got no idea.

Durham talking about Stoke at 5pm.
Normally I'd say don't bite, but maybe a few tactical "I agree, we're not very ambitious and the club need to spend now" phonecalls might be useful...
... actually don't bite.

While some of that is undoubtably true, the same was said about N'Zonzi when he left. We still haven't replaced him. Hopefully we'll not make the same mistake.

Durham went in to stick his boot into pc on this evenings talksport, saying how can you demand loyalty when you ask your players to commute. Ridiculed pc saying that we gave arnoutavic a name saying he was at inter. Basically did what he does all the time and dissed Stoke and the club, the guys an absolute arsehole
