My dead Gran is a better goalie than Haugaard. He's so scared of crosses. It's unreal how shit he is. Wara is out of his depth too but he's young and has an excuse. Hill looks very good and very quick (I think it is Hill, number 7?) Sweeney looks solid Shenton looks composed on the ball Our number 8 looks a dirty little shit

I know 3rd choice keeper isn't the number one priority, but it is a bit of a concern that Haugaard is still in the mix. Any kind of injury to Butland or Grant, and he's on the bench. But with money on Crewe, I won't hold it too much against him today

Only put a tenner on for once I wished my fat fingers had worked magic by pressing 100 :-)

If you're on about Campbell, he isn't.

Sorry for miss spelling. My fault!
Sitting in the stand watching him, he doesn't deserve the number 9.

Thank you. It's a bit of experience I guess but not too positive for the future based on albeit one game in pre season.

He didn't even look bothered.
On the other hand Shenton actually tried, chased everything.

Nice goal from Waddington but not a lot else to shout about . Shenton pick of the team when he was on . Tactics do ud no favours Crewe' s play much more progressive and positive . Hard to judge Campbell looks strong but no service or support really .

Am I being naïve? For some reason I thought/hoped what is effectively our U23 side with all the talk of us having some great youngsters would be too good for Crewe who nearly fell out of the football league altogether 3 months ago. But none of it, instead going by the score line it seems we got a bit of a towelling. Hopefully this will at least serve a lesson to anyone who thinks in the absence of Walters, Whelan, Bardo, Arnie, Bruno etc. next season we can do this thing with the kids, the emphatic answer is 'no we can't' and we shouldn't even try. Need to get some reinforcements in, with proven experience, this week...

You are aware that there isn't a single youngster in that team that is knocking on the door to be involved with the first team aren't you?

Need to get some reinforcements in, with proven experience, this week... Looking at the team we actually fielded, there only seems any buzz about Sweeney and Campbell. I'd be more worried if Edwards, Tymon, Souttar, Verlinden, Telford and Ngoy had been playing. u23s football just seems a quagmire for most players. That said, Crewe's team seems almost as young and probably acquired for much, much less. Sweeney, Waddington and Campbell all probably cost more than any Crewe player, and a wage bill comparison between the 2 sets of players would probably be quite interesting? Can't say I was surprised though - that's why I was straight on betfair to back Crewe as soon as I saw the team.

It's worth pointing out that the young players who are knocking on the door of the first team (Ngoy, Telford, Edwards, Verlinden) weren't actually playing today. EDIT: It has now been pointed out. A few times.

Jakob Haugaard is the most fucking appalling excuse for a keeper ever!! I take it you never witnessed Gordon Marshall goal keeping heroics then???

I still maintain that even though Edwards didn't play that he will be a world class fullback.

Just back. Scoreline flattered Stoke however didn't realise it was pretty much their first team. U23 reserves mostly.
Our number seven impressed me.
Haugaard... nothing new to say other than he should just be paid off.
