Quick look at wiki and they had some fine European runs back in the 80's.
Stand out results included a 2-1 win at home to Bayern Munich in the European Cup in 87/88 and a 2-0 win at home to Real Madrid in the quarter finals of the UEFA Cup in 85/86.
If we'd pulled off those results you'd have a job to shut me up from still banging inanely on about them today to anyone who cared to listen, in fact to anyone who didn't want to listen as well!

Their Swiss Super League season starts on July 21st so you'd expect them to look a bit sharper and more match fit than ourselves. Should be a good test for the lads.

Must admit I do still bang on about our 1-1 with Ajax, when I tell the story though I never bother correcting anyone who assumes Johan Cruyff was still with them !

Or a tropical disease?

will these streams work on a phone? I'd imagine so, the online videos play on IOS so I think it'll be the same for the stream.

Quite looking forward to this, mainly in the hope of seeing Verlinden, Tymon, N'Goy and Edwards.

Any team news yet. Do we know who has definitely travelled, or more to the point who hasn't. Hope Imbula remembered his gloves, if he has gone that is...

If he plays a totally different XI in both halves, as has been mentioned, could be looking at something like:
Butland Johnson-Shawcross-Muniesa-Pieters Adam-Imbula Verlinden-Bojan-Arnie Berahino
....depending on if he wants to play all the regulars together or mix and match them with the U23s.
Grant Bardsley-Wolly-Sweeney-Tymon Shenton-Jarvis Ngoy-Telford-Campbell Crouch
That'd just leave Souttar and Edwards, of the players he's said will be available for the first 2 games.
Looking at how inexperienced the second-half XI would be, I'm guessing he'll mix and match a bit more

Christ, any midfield combination is porous. The first midfield is a gaping chasm of deep fried mars bar eating, hollywood ball playing, glove wearing, under-achieving moodiness. Allen and Fletch can't come back soon enough. Hell, I am even hankering after the human shield that is Glenda!
