Bank's save Maradona's "Hand of God" Owens goal against Germany is up there as is Gascoigns goal v Scotland. Cantona kung fu kicking the crowd That head butt above was a shock. Then this Feel like i remember that as clearly as Battiston must still do! The '82 World Cup is still one my favourites (in my time) and had two of my favourite international teams to watch (again in my time) in France and Brazil. The French had Platini, Six, Tigana, Giresse etc and the Brazilians Zico, Junior, Socrates, Eder, Falcao... England's great performance against the French with Robson's lightning fast goal, only to go out after not losing a game, after drawing all 3 group games in the 2nd round. David Narey's cracker of a goal for the Scots against Brazil. Gerry Armstrong's shock winner for Northern Ireland against Spain. El Salvador copping a 10-1(?) drubbing off a middling team (who escape me at the moment!) The Italian's sneaking through the first round, only to do what Italy do and grow into the tournament, going on to win it with Paulo Rossi in his pomp. Happy days.

Firstly can I be a pedantic twat and a fussy old bugger and say that I do wish people wouldn't use the word 'iconic' so totally out of context, it irritates the tits off me.
That said, , of things I actually saw I must say the famous 4-4 draw when foxy got sent off, and on the telly I guess the Banks save

Dean Windass pretending to bum one of our players (think it was Higgy).
Both defining moments in world football.
