No I will moan if we produce the same shower of shite that we did last season. If we finish 13 and play good football, find a formation that suits us, create chances for Saido and start the season better than we have in the pass then I will applaud Hughes. Let's wait and see....I've a feeling you'll never be happy....Which club did you play for in Holland by the way ? It's been mentioned on other threads and I'm not talking about it anymore because some scabby little cunt will come and make out like I'm arrogant.

Hughes has no fucking idea what he's doing and he's shown that every season. I really don't agree with this. We've had some great days under Hughes. Even when we struggled and looked set for a relegation battle in the first half of his first year, I remember feeling invigorated to see us actually trying to play a passing game. We've had some truly amazing times under Hughes, three consecutive top-half finishes for the first time in our history, a bunch of famous wins, some jaw-dropping signings, and with a bit more luck might have even have bagged the League Cup. Admittedly it's been pretty poor since losing that semi-final and I feel like we should be heading into the new season with a new manager. On the flip-side I think this will send a positive message to future managerial candidates that this is the opposite of a trigger-happy club. It will be annoying if we have a poor season, or if Hughes ends up being fired early on. I don't however think that loyalty is some sort of catastrophe like a lot on here are making it out to be. When there's people in this thread saying PC should leave the club, it ironically makes me thankful to have a wise, thoughtful leader like PC at the helm as opposed to the sort of reactionary people who call for his resignation.

So all these postings saying Coates needs to back him, umm explains Imbula for me lads? £18 mil pissed up the wall and we ain't got shit in return. I've got ocean front property in Arizona for sale with that logic. It's obvious Hughes has been told to make due, unless there is some magic money spree being held back, I'm not sure he should be given another £20 million anyways to be honest. 😂 I couldn't handle another flop.

Happy enough that Hughes has another chance, a couple of decent signings and we could have a decent season. That's what's so annoying. We're so close, yet even further away.

The dreaded vote of confidence.
Tin hat on, but it's usually last chance saloon when an owner comes out and publicly backs a manager.

I think that's a bit of a well worn cliche nowadays mate, though admittedly you might just have had a tad more experience of managers getting the boot over the past 15 years. I think Coates usually plays these things with a straight bat, or as was the case of Tony Pulis, just doesn't comment at all before pressing the ejector button. I don't doubt though that there's a bit of an unspoken warning that things need to improve, and Hughes would do well to buck his ideas up a bit.

I was rather livid at the end of the season. But I like MH. I want him to stick around. I want to see him succeed and 8th-10th again is fine by me. Even 11th-12th if we play in a cavalier attacking style that's easy on the eyes. I want my Stokealona back, but any derivative of that will be fine too. I'm back to trusting in MH and I hope we navigate past the opening few fixtures without tantrums, meltdowns, and crocodile tears. I think this is part of the problem with all respectthe whole Stokealona thing was great but the game has moved on and seems increasingly about power and pace as much as possession and this is what we badly lack , maybe if we added some of that that it would help players like Shaq and Bojan but with a slow team it just looks outdated and ineffective and does not play to their strengths because the opposition have the movement and strngth to stop us in attack and then pick us off in defence

100% fact argue with that. Question. Do you think Mark Hughes just pops out and buys the player and nobody else at the club is involved in the decision in any way and just rock up one day to find who the manager has bought? Do you think possibly there are a great number of meetings with numerous people, shortlists, knockbacks, breakthroughs, changes of mind and then agreement of all the members of the group on a decision? Or do you think it's like career mode on FIFA?

Not sure you can call this the dreaded 'vote of confidence' flush in the middle of the summer recess as it is.
It seems more like an attempt to circle the wagons, paint an optimistic view of the future and in turn shift a few more season tickets so our slightly larger home doesn't have the depressing sight of 1,800 empty plastic seats dotted around it come August.

I find it a little bit concerning that Coates thinks that Hughes only took knocks at the end of the season when it's pretty clear that things changed after the semi defeat on penalties a full year earlier than that. Not alot of point in referring to a problem publicly if he's then going to try putting a positive spin on facts which are well known to everyone supporting the club.
