So. I drank water all day yesterday. Then Drove back last night left around 11:30 in at 4am. Knackerd isnt the word. Another shower later as i still dont feel 100% clean. Lookikng back it was an amazing festival to be a part of what Michael Emily put on was thrilling. Big shout out to The Charlatans. It was a very good set as was Vampire Weekend. First bit of Killers Excellent. Idles very good. Fatboy Slim brilliant. The Cure last night that was superb. A name you need to look out for Absolutely ripped up the John Peel Stage. Jerry Cinnamon. Not seen him before. Went and it was awsome. Sir David Attenborough speech. To see him and that well. Possibly the best teacher in life for me. Highlight of the whole thing tho for me has to be CB that light sound techno masterpiece was 10/10. To the hundreds of food stands selling everything from Burgers Nachos Greek Kebabs Tibetan food and many more to the Cider bus. That was excellent cider. The walk up the hill to look over at the whole site. The Rabbit Hole The Tree Greenpeace. Marvelous planning there isnt a festival like it. Must be 5 festivals rolled into one. Time to try for 20/20 50 year. Possible acts id like to see for special one. Fleetwood Mac possibly is the talk that would be good. Zeppelin Emily always said she has wanted them. So id go them and a possible Oasis reunion. Heard a rumour the other day that ABBA were already booked for the legends spot next year, can't see it myself.

Makes many valid points about this stormzy virtue-signalling Not really. Bangs on about it being a "white, middle class festival" based on what exactly? There are dozens of stages at Glasto, there are many, many, many performers from literally all over the world, masses of world music (from dozens upon dozens of non-white, non-middle class performers) and many, many people from all walks of life who attend. What you have here is a bloke who's clearly never been to the festival shoehorning an agenda in based on him seeing a few photos of the main stage in the media, the fact that Corbyn made a speech there (not this year. He focusses on this year, then slips in something that happened 2 fucking years ago as if it backs him up amd is somehow relevant to the point he makes about this year's festival) and his own complete lack of knowledge of the festival. He goes on "why are they making such a big deal about Stormzy being black?"...no one at Glastonbury is, it's the newspaper you're quoting from that is you muppet!! It's actually incredibly poor and totally misrepresenting what Glastonbury is actually like in reality. It isn't just the Pyramid stage (which nowadays is chocked full of pop artists) and that's the whole of Glastonbury. It's actually completely ignorant about what the festival as a a whole is like. Incredibly poor and lazy "journalism" (using that term incredibly loosely!) Misrepresentation, obvious complete lack of research about other artists on other stages that appear there every year, then slagging off the festival for something a newspaper says. Extremely poor and ignorant video basically. If it was MSM reporting this then people would be up in arms about how they're completely misrepresenting and cherry picking facts to suit their own story, but when it fits your own personal agenda, suddenly it's someone making "valid" points. The guy is utterly clueless and his points are actually weak as piss if you look at facts. They're only valid if you swallow what he says as gospel, when in reality most is actually bullshit from a bloke with no experience of what he's complaining about. It's actually an extremely poor and badly researched video. His smug, self-superior demeanour also doesn't help him, given the fact he clearly has no clue about the subject he's addressing. Top post Mick. Yet another alt-right virgin in "feels threatened by celebrity black person" shock.

Fleetwood Mac possibly is the talk that would be good. If they haven't got Peter Green with them, they can stick it up their @&$e. Recon Peter Gabriel in a Genesis lineup would be good, but isn’t Phil Collins ill...

If they could get Rick Wakeman to stand in for Richard Wright, then Pink Floyd could become one of the all time greats. But I think Eavis May have burned his bridges, as Gilmore begged to play the year before Wright died, as they new his N was up, but Eavis wouldn’t do it. He managed to bump Billie Eilish up onto the Pyramid stage though

Everything I say seems to offend folks 30yrs younger than me these days whether it be my opinion on politics, race, gender, entitlement, personal responsibility, etc, etc..., so here goes;
Is it me or is there a certain irony that Stormzy's stab vest might be considered necessary attire in the company of those he purports to represent...?
If wannabee black gangsters fuelled on aggressive grime/drill rap mantras kill other wannabee black gangsters over (drug) territory how is that the fault of 'a divided nation' (ie., whitey)...?
I'm genuinely confused these days...

Impossible not to like him in my opinion, does so much for charity and unprivileged, kids who weren’t even fed with a stainless steel spoon, never mind a silver spoon. Great character, amazing educational grades too if you look into it.

Stormzy is a good guy, don’t diss him I confess to turning him off after 3 or 4 'songs'. It just sounded like a lot of expletive laden, aggressive ranting to me. I just didn't pick up on any positive 'vibe' - sorry. Perhaps Stormzy is a good guy and I'll take you word for it but it cannot be denied that gangster rap/grime/drill has done little to dissuade impressionable young black males from entering a world of hurt for themselves, their families and their communities. It would have been amazing if he'd said something along the lines of, "Black Lives Matter - STOP fucking stabbing your own people !!!" Then I would have taken more notice of his 'message' and hung in there...

Miley Cyrus did a great set & she can’t half belt’em out. She’s did Misty Mountain Hop Just got back from Greece and watched Kylie's and Miley's sets back to back, Miley completely blew Kylie off the stage didn't she? Oh by the way, it was Black Dog, for what it was worth. 👍

And that Elvis has let it be known that "if the Beatles can do it, then I'll be right there myself up on stage beside 'em". There has been no comment yet from Jimi Hendrix about the rumour that he might make a guest appearance on the Beatles ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’. And as I live only about ten miles away from Glastonbury/Pilton (less as the crow flies) you can take it from me that all this is FACT.

I had Ketamin at the RSUH following a bad injury they had to put the bones in my wrist back in place before surgery a couple of days later. I can tell you I was on a different planet for 24hrs once home from the A&E wow.

I thought Janelle Monae was belting, but I've liked her since her first album. There's almost too much to see and watch at Glasto and the TV coverage did focus on some of the more poppy stuff. My 17 year old step daughter went and made it back in one piece. It's too big for me and after a great Green Man last Summer, I'm off to End of the Road again as I've been given two free tickets. Not great headliners this year but looking forward to seeing Low, Deerhunter, Cate Le Bon and what Jarvis has to offer in his new guise, plus Wire, Beirut and Courtney Barnett to name a few others.
Re the Genesis/Gabriel chat above, although tribute bands might not float your boat, The Musical Box from Montreal are brilliant. Note perfect and even using stage props from the sets in the 70's. Seen them twice when they did the set from the 1974 Selling England tour. They're touring in the New Year, but extending the set to include stuff from the first three Gabriel-less albums which isn't my bag!

The fences did have to go up, sadly. It has sanitised the crowds a bit but Evis does his best to attract diversity and still allow value around the big ticket price. Its now multiple festivals/ communities in one and of course that interaction isnt always comfortable. You can either project that discomfort or let it sit a bit. I have friends who never leave the main stages and others who never leave the South East Corner. And if they do they waste their time judging the others. I love the place. It's British, its bold and its successful. And it's still overwhelming even to an old timer.

I think it is, but also to the extent you make your luck. Ideally I'd like an open ticket but failed in a big group in the main sale. I tried and got a coach ticket in the resale. I got a window open really late in and went for Cardiff on Thursday afternoon as a most likely not to disappear as I was typing. I was also only entering one set of details. It's always a bit easier for coach tickets. You can read up a bit on best techniques/ browser/ tabs/ connection theories on festival websites for what they are worth. You are up against hundreds of thousands of people who plan for it all year. And every year more converts. I've been pretty lucky, this was my 15th. :) It was brutally hot for a couple of days but it was an absolute cracker.
