How many times have you been. Do you think its pure luck if you get a ticket? I think it is, but also to the extent you make your luck. Ideally I'd like an open ticket but failed in a big group in the main sale. I tried and got a coach ticket in the resale. I got a window open really late in and went for Cardiff on Thursday afternoon as a most likely not to disappear as I was typing. I was also only entering one set of details. It's always a bit easier for coach tickets. You can read up a bit on best techniques/ browser/ tabs/ connection theories on festival websites for what they are worth. You are up against hundreds of thousands of people who plan for it all year. And every year more converts. I've been pretty lucky, this was my 15th. It was brutally hot for a couple of days but it was an absolute cracker. Yeah it is a case of both i think. Guy camping near me had been the last 5. I know what u mean. Came out of John Peel after seeing Gerry Cinnamon Sat afternoon and it must of been 30 odd degrees.

Having a look on iPlayer and hadn't realised Friendly Fires played, absolutely awesome live band. Glad they're back, the indie disco soundtrack to my teen years.

Foals are just epic. Yannis just loves mingling with the crowd 😄😄 That was immense! I saw them in Manchester at the Warehouse 3 weeks ago and they were great as always.

Watching the Idles it was hard to work out which member of the band was actually the maddest It was a great set though. One of my fav bands at the moment, they are a throwback to music that I love to listen to and also they are good live. The best of Glastonbury were Fontaines D.C., I just think they are brilliant, and their set was superb. Not a massive festival fan (too old), but the wife and son are desperate to go next year so we will be applying in October.

Janet Jackson on now - don't know whether its me or my tv but every artist i've seen so far apart from perhaps the Idols have seemed powder puff, light and without any sort of power or stage presence. When i go to a gig i want to feel the thud and power of the music to my core This. A lot of bands I have seen in the last 2yrs (son is big into his music) are all a bit meh live. The exceptions were DMA's, editors, James and kasabian. Went to watch Liam Gallagher and he was piss poor and and a lot of his fans are complete dicks. DMAs followings are going the same way too, I have advised the lad if I go DMAs again.... I will be sitting in the high seats away from the riff raff!!

Did Janet Jackson get booed off and have things thrown at her?! 'Cause from the 10 minutes I witnessed last night she didn't sing a fucking word. I guess throwing bottles of piss is not a millennials thing. It still is and it's fucking wank. Why not just piss in a bottle then empty it on the floor. Or simply go the toilet, not like there isn't many of them. The biggest bugbear of going a festival is piss throwing.

So. I drank water all day yesterday. Then Drove back last night left around 11:30 in at 4am. Knackerd isnt the word. Another shower later as i still dont feel 100% clean. Lookikng back it was an amazing festival to be a part of what Michael Emily put on was thrilling. Big shout out to The Charlatans. It was a very good set as was Vampire Weekend. First bit of Killers Excellent. Idles very good. Fatboy Slim brilliant. The Cure last night that was superb. A name you need to look out for Absolutely ripped up the John Peel Stage. Jerry Cinnamon. Not seen him before. Went and it was awsome. Sir David Attenborough speech. To see him and that well. Possibly the best teacher in life for me. Highlight of the whole thing tho for me has to be CB that light sound techno masterpiece was 10/10. To the hundreds of food stands selling everything from Burgers Nachos Greek Kebabs Tibetan food and many more to the Cider bus. That was excellent cider. The walk up the hill to look over at the whole site. The Rabbit Hole The Tree Greenpeace. Marvelous planning there isnt a festival like it. Must be 5 festivals rolled into one. Time to try for 20/20 50 year. Possible acts id like to see for special one. Fleetwood Mac possibly is the talk that would be good. Zeppelin Emily always said she has wanted them. So id go them and a possible Oasis reunion. Gerry Cinnamon is great, he was at Neighbourhood in Warrington and he is a great guy to watch. Just seems to love what he's doing, doesn't take himself too seriously (a bit like Lewis capaldi) and bloody talented as well

Far less prickish behaviour.

True I keep getting asked to go to Download, Bloodstock etc but I really don't won't to piss on the floor at my feet at my age or indeed have some kid piss on my feet. Give me a nice seat anytime please, thank God for all seater stadiums.

Paul McCartney Headlining Glasnost. That’s a big ticket in itself.

The last time I heard Macca sing was at the London Olympics 2012 opening ceremony - his voice was gone then so fuck knows how he'll sound 8 years hence.
I was lucky enough to have seen him at The Silver Clef gig at Knebworth in 1990 (along with Genesis, Pink Floyd, etc) - Hey Jude was one of the most emotional musical experiences I can remember.
Hopefully he has a good singing coach and voice management programme for Glasto...

I was gutted to miss out this year. After going last year got the feel for it.
However i think i may have got lucky. Don't get me wrong for what he's done for music it makes sense having him there Anniversary year. I also like alot of the beatles stuff. Im not that fussed about seeing him though. Also if the odds are correct. You might see Kendrick Lemar and Taylor Swift headlining which wouldn't bother me in the slightest hence i say i may have got lucky. However Emily said 3 acts that will perform on the Other stage are also Pyramid Level acts so they cud still end up booking someone id love to see.

BBC now have Jo Whiley stuck in a field near the pyramid stage with the cows in the background showing old footage. Not quite the real thing but recorded live music at least and a varied selection.
Anything that's better than the Peter Crouch summer show and ITVs Alan Carr shows.

You would think the BBC would show some classic Glastonbury gigs but no, it’s Beyoncé on BBC2 and J Feckin Z on BBC4. Actually no that’s exactly what I’d expect from the BBC 🤦🏻♂️

Actually no that’s exactly what I’d expect from the BBC 🤦🏻♂️ I know their are many stages but the main stage was shown on the bbc on friday was in the old world a good guitar based group but times have changed. Not my cup of tea either partly mimed and dance acts.

I have seen most of these glasto gigs before but thought I would watch again...That performance from Beyonce was outstanding she had me mesmerised, Disclosure were mint too, Adele can't stand her and her foul language! I need to watch Fontains D C, Chemical brothers and the Killers & Coldplay and probably a few more.
