It's not about how great laws are but who makes them and how they are made. Our Parliament can pass any law....but you prefer to believe that we are not capable of doing so but the arrogant EU is......we know whose side you are on No, I don't care who makes our law if they have a history of not overstepping their power, they can only rule on a very small number of things and if the laws they make are good. The point is, with an extreme government (on the right or left) we could lose huge amounts of rights and benefits (I don't mean state benefits) we currently get once we leave. Right now we have a choice between quite an extreme party on te right or quite an extreme party on the left. I much prefer the more centralist EU than either at the moment. So it is cheaper, more democratic, with good law and it gives us more sovereignty. The EU politicians and their arrogance pails in comparison to the likes of Hunt, Johnson, Gove and Grayling. Arrogant leaders is not a rational reason to leave the EU.

Genuine question - is this linked too them shutting down their government for a couple of days or is the poud actually strengthening? I'm fed up of the euro getting closer to 1:1. The pound is strenghtening, it's about 1.13 a Euro now.

I don't know if this is actually true, but it sounds a bit arrogant, bullying and threatening. Sounds like they just want to freeload off us.

Bless. Oggy the straw troll. Nobody has mentioned shutting the borders to everyone, apart from you. So you agree with me, immigration is a good thing. Everyone agrees with that. Not once during and since the Brexit vote has any government official stated otherwise, to my knowledge anyway.

Lichtenstein doesn't agree with you either. Many of the population of Italy and Greece with huge amounts of immigration and sky high youth unemployment don't agree with you.

You'd think so, but there a good few people on here who don't get it, for various reasons, political or just can't back down. See above for an example of someone who singularly fails to get most things.

Sorry should have made myself clearer in my reply. Immigration is a good thing, but it has to be controlled.

Two hedge funds who bet on Carillion's share price falling did particularly well out of the firm's collapse.
BlackRock is reported to have made £80m. It pays George Osborne £650k a yr as an "adviser"
Naya Capital made £7.6m. It donated £50k to the Tories before the election

Meanwhile, in what has the EU ever done for us news, the budget deficit halved last month thanks to an unusually large rebate from the EU.
The ONS said it reflected the under performance by the Uk economy, since contributions to the EU are relative to other member states economic performance.
In other words, we've basically reduced the money we give to the EU by making ourselves poorer.
You couldn't make this shit up!

Brexit hasn't actually taken place yet, Todge, and as it's heading towards the softest of soft Brexits, this might account for the strengthening pound against the dollar but not the Euro. On a similar vein, I see Call me Dave has stated Brexit isn't a disaster. It's a mistake

Work at it. I'm the thick leaver remember. Nope, still can't get it to make any sense. Help me out with what you meant. We're being given our own money back which you are saying is a benefit to us! If we had not given them the money in the first place then there would have been no rebate to give. Put another way you, give me £10 and expect to get £2 back, but I give you £3 instead. Are you £1 up or £7 down? Arguing you are £1 better off and not £7 down is imo the own goal. Hope that helps.

Oh yes, the notoriously reliable source that is Donald Trump. Where's that wall again? And have Mexico paid for it? Obamacare a thing of the past? No. Oh. This is the same guy who said he is the least racist person an interviewer had ever spoken to despite retweeting racist Britain First and his sh*thole countries remark! I am sure Trump will stick to his word though with us, it's not like he has promoted an isolationist pro-US policy or increased tarrifs on aircraft parts from the UK by 200% odd.

You certainly seem to share so many values with Trump from what I've read of your comments on the Cultural Enrichment thread! no wonder you hate the EU so much as it stands for so much that Trump hates.
