Let's help the pizza boys close this one. Reasons to choose us rather than WBA: *Won't have to play in the Pulis 'cage' *Our training ground 40 minutes nearer to his Cheshire home Anything else...? Red & White over Navy Blue & White any day......easy!!! 😏

He'd be great for us. His signing would rubber stamp Fletcher as the new DM though. And what about Joe Allen? Number 10? At Swansea?

If this thread doesn't sum up the "We'll moan about anything" shit that takes place on here daily then I don't know what will.
Get linked to a 'squad player' and people are moaning about how shit it is "We should be signing people who're wanting to start, competition for places, splashing out money" blah blah blah.
Get linked to a player who ticks all of the above boxes, "Well this is shit, he anit coming here to not play, he wont sit on the bench, waste of money" blah blah blah.

A Fletcher, Delph, Allen midfield three clearly wouldn't function - so what's the plan? Those 3 would expect to start most weeks It's 3 at the back next season for sure. How that includes those 3 is a mystery, as Toyah might say in her lovely lispy way. Maybe wee Joe will do his Duracell bunny routine as a wing back?

I just bet Sparky will keep Joe in the no. 10 position with Fletch and Delph as the two behind.
Fine when you're defending but where's the creativity coming from?

Everton play with a 3 in midfield who don't offer much creativity. At least with a 3 of Allen, Fletcher and Delph we'd have the ability to get about the pitch a lot better than we currently do. Everton have possibly the best all round striker in the league behind Kane, and they still only finished 7th in this awful, awful season. There are far better teams id like us to emulate.

Indeed, you have to rely on Arnie and Shaq having blinders each week, which most of their types of creative players simply do not. It also limits the support given to the front man from midfield as those three will naturally sit deeper than a Bojan style number 10 would.

Tell him he needs to do a bit of pressing every so often and you're laughing. All we need is a big ugly defensively minded CM along Joe, but where does Fletch then fit in? Hoping Les has a plan!

Far too old then.

Just what we need in my opinion. £12m plus (let's say) £60k a week seems about right for him in this (admittedly insane) market. Go get him pizza boys! You'd think it would be more than that as a weekly, Fletcher is meant to be on more.

To anyone in the know - what kind of midfielder is Delph? Box to box I would say. Can tackle, score the odd goal and gets about the pitch. Can't really say he's a specific defensive or attacking midfielder.

Definite upgrade. He would be in the England squad if he played regular. Think 12m is very reasonable in today's market. Come on Stoke don't fuck about get it sorted

Yeah exactly, before they got lazy and turned into "specialists" because they couldn't do the other side of the game.

His value has gone up by 50% since he signed for man city since then done feck all hardly played and people think this is great value at 12m. He is almost a carbon copy of Joe allen. Look elsewhere

At that price in the current market it represents decent value. Type and age we should be buying. Its either that or unearth a cheap European option and hope the punt comes off and they develop with sell on value.

Allen and Delph would create a more mobile midfield, with Fletch to sit in and organise. Not sexy Stokealona, but an improvement on the static and ponderous midfield showings we have witnessed many times these past 18 months. Central midfield has been a notable weakness in our recent poor form, so two new central midfielders are to be welcomed. Get the right type of full backs, finally sign Bruno and we could be in decent shape for the new season.
