Be a shame to see him go as he's a good lad but he's not a left back and he's not in the same bracket as Ryan and (hopefully) Bruno so unless we started playing three at the back regularly he's not going to feature much at all.
Him and his missus have just had a baby, it's close to home and a chance to play at a good level.
Sad to see him go but deep down it's probably the right move.

He was always going to be third choice behind Wolly, Ryan and Bruno so best he moves on for his career.
Nice lad.

Interesting one. I was expecting him to go Pretty much his home town, promoted to top league for first time? And reports that it's "almost done"? But how could such a tiny club afford the fee or salary? He'd have to be really keen to go home to take a wage cut? I guess in 4 years here he's already a millionaire (multi?) and he seems the sort who would put happiness above money. He tweeted this but i don't know how to copy tweets!

He's the second best CB we own. Madness to let him go. He was always going to go though, wasn't he? Hughes keeps promising him games and keeps not delivering, year after year, promise after promise. We were willing to let him go on January 31st if we'd signed Llorente. If he's willing to sign for Girona, he'll be taking a massive wage drop which show how desperate he is for a.) football and b.) sun! If there's any truth in this, we must be looking at two new CBs now after Wolly joins him on the Autobahn.

He's the best CB we have for that period.

Clearly Muni is a good "footballer" having been trained the Barca way. Sadly his hamstrings appear to be made of cling film and this has severely limited his chance to become a regular starter
He comes across as a really nice guy and I'm pretty sure most Stokies will wish him all the best for the future.

How do you come to that conclusion? Because he is? Cameron is stronger, much quicker, more physical, better at intercepting and significantly better in the air. Muni is better on the ball but nothing else

I read on here that his perpetual twangs mean he can't stretch or break into a sprint anymore. Even if that's exaggeration there's plenty of evidence that he can't sustain a run of games. If there's any truth in it, warmer climes, gentler League would be rayt. And perhaps there's always going to be a doubt when picking the XI, will he pull up, start a match already thinking he may need subbing, etc.
I've never quite forgiven him for allowing Gerrard through on his testimonial. {half smiley}. Great goal vs Burnley "wandering out of position". Quality player obviously never fulfilled his potential because of injury. I like his football, if he his fit enough, left in a back three or back up centre back, great if he stays but we need to ditch La Bamba, obviously a cursed tune.

Too often he's injured though. Maybe if his position was out wide we could accommodate him but centre back is meant to be part of the spine of the team. Muni cannot be relied upon. Move him on.

As for better than Geoff, your irrational hatred of our American utility man blinkers your views once again as Chiswick Potter is pretty much spot on.

I'd keep Muni before handing out contracts to Cameron, Bardsley and Johnson.
Surely anyone else would as well.

£2M+ and off he goes I hope! A very ordinary player in my opinion! him and wolly were magnificent at Anfield in the league cup semi final, he also showed to be a good holding midfielder when played there not so long ago, a decent player who we couldnt replace for anywhere near £2m

He's no left back but a decent squad player for centre back. He may have been a great holding midfielder but we'll never know.
