Tbf Totti has done a lot of, erm, dirty things in his career. Saying that, doesn't stop him being a very, very good player. Wouldn't call him a legend or an all time great though.

Apparently (according to the Italian journo on the European football show on BT), the debate in Italy is around if he's the best Italian footballer ever.

He never really turned up for Italy did he? bit like a certain Wayne Rooney you could say. Again, not saying he wasn't very good but definitely not one of the best ever.

He played in a World Cup winning team for them.... I have no opinion on the matter tbh, my knowledge of Italian footballers over the years is poor. Just saying that's what the debate in Italy is apparently.

Roberto Baggio atm is the best Italian footballer ever. In My opinion, the fact he has won the Gold Baloon in an year without national competition (1993), is a testify of this.

Very reasonable - paid £34 for a €25 face value ticket. (This was just after Totti had announced his retirement, they went up ten fold after on the site I purchased from)

What a game tonight, pisses all over this sanitised premier league shit.
Didn't see any passing round the back four or controlling the game, just two teams trying to score goals, loved very minute of it.
No players booked for celebrating a goal, hardly saw the ref, surprisingly no diving or trying to con the ref.
It was like watching proper football again.

How is he not a legend? Alan Shearer is considered a legend and Totti's success dwarfs anything that he did. 300+ career goals World Cup winner Longevity of his career Etc. Totti is a true modern day legend of the game.

So, it appears people are choosing to ignore the fact I said Totti was a "very, very good player" just because I don't put him in the same category player of Zidane, fat Ronaldo, Paolo Maldini etc who were around the same time as Totti was in his prime. IT'S AN OPINION.
