Chris Wood as in Charlie Adam, no s on the end. Would be great having a Kiwi playing for Stoke but 20 mil is 10 mil too much

Played well this season, but am I right in thinking he's looked decidedly average everywhere else?

We would have Chris Woods and Charlie Adams then.

If he's worth 20 million then jack must be 50 mill

Hope he can play in both fullback positions and defensive midfield as we only have 25mill budget and he's got a 20mill tag on his head.

If we're after a striker from the Championship it should be Tammy Abraham, not Chris one pace Wood.

Why are Saints after him when they have a similar but much better striker in Charlie Austin?
West Ham I can see like a shot. I dare say there is only one show in town here and there are silly club/agent games going on.

Here we go again
Another one written off on here ....I'll dare bet most have no idea about him and that's why " he's shit " or is it because he plays in that league called " the championship "
He's scored THIRTY GOALS
Oh well

Do you think there are any legs in the rumours given the manager and club are hinting at a low-ish spend plus the manager has said we are after defensive players...and the fact we've only just signed Berahino? I can see it from an age point of view. Let Walters and/or Crouch go and bring in someone like Wood, but the rest doesn't seem to fit does it?

The price would not be the one quoted mate Look he might sign he might not, it's the utter bollocks that players get written off before they've signed and are deemed " championship at best " when in reality the championship is probably stronger than many top leagues in Europe apart from the obvious ones If we were to sign a 30 goal striker from the Saudi Arabian league they'd be jizzing their pants on here That's my point

He can never seem to get a consistent run going and these past two seasons are really the first two back to back seasons he's had.
30 goals is ace but he does look bang average and doesn't look to be in the same league as Austin and players like that who have made the step up. More of a Rhodes. Worth a gamble at 5-10m probably but anything north of that is madness.

We are still searching for that 15-20 goal a season striker so its worth a look. Trouble is there hasn't been that many Danny Ings and Charlie Austin spring to mind I think Austin hit near 20 for QPR. So he might be the next Charlie Austin, at the right price why not? As for Ings, is his career over after 2 serious knee ops?

another striker? good job we've given crouch a new contract and bought berahino 4 months ago
it's irrelevant who the striker is, no one will score as they don't get the service, it's blindingly obvious to all but Hughes and co
we need a No 10 who has vision and can thread the ball accurately to his teams mates, a new young and hungry, powerful left winger too, and possibly even a technically astute striker who creates just as many assists as he does score
Now where can we find a trio like this???? hmmmm

If we're after a striker from the Championship it should be Tammy Abraham, not Chris one pace Wood. Agree, maybe we could get him on loan from Chelsea for a season, but with Arsenal and Everton rumoured to be sniffing to replace Sanchez or Lukaku I doubt we'd get a sniff in.

Tough transition from Championship to the Premier League for a striker like that. Reminds me of a James Beattie type player - might not be the worse signing if we can give him the service (lets not get started on that)

It would all depends on the service he got from Shaqiris, Arnautovics, and Adams.

It is the fact that we do not have the correct delivery or players who can deliver.

It is the fact that we do not have the correct delivery or players who can deliver. A perfect example was the home game against Everton. Arnie beat his man on the outside, got to the bye line, crossed it in for Crouch, who scored. We don't do that often enough, and I am convinced it's a big reason we don't score many goals.
