My understanding was that he had 1yr left ie the 'no purchase option' was irrelevant as he's out of contract come the end of the 1yr anyway? Imbula signed a five-and-a-half year contract with Stoke City in February last year. We are far from rid of him, all we've done is shuffle the problem on for 9 months.

Will have a fantastic season in Ligue Un.....score goals & show his talents....come back at the end of season with a whole host of Clubs clambering for his signature Now, the nice men in white coats are here for me...They're coming to take me away, ha ha..he he That's actually not as daft a scenario as you make out, if he does play well there and Tolouse or any other French club want him then we could find ourselves in a BMI situation, except we are holding all the aces...

For some reason I thought he was on about Wollscheid!?

Let's hope a spell back in France shows his good (and not too many of his bad) points and one of the bigger clubs over there offer us 10m for him next summer. That's the best we can hope for.

L'Equipe just reporting Imbula in Toulouse tonight. Season long loan without option to buy! It's got to the point where we've got nothing to lose by him going somehwere, anywhere........... coat on..... out the door! Les Violets.com stating Toulouse prepared to pay Imbula's full salary- almost €300,000 a month!

www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/08/31/football-transfer-news-rumours-live-transfer-deadline-day/John Percy: Stoke’s record signing Giannelli Imbula is on the verge of joining Toulouse on loan.
Imbula was signed for £18.3m from Porto but has endured a nightmare spell in the Potteries and is ready to move back to France.
Stoke are waiting for the paperwork and though they favoured a permanent deal, the club believes they have nothing Toulouse by sending him there for the season.
Bojan is also expected to leave on Thursday with a loan move to Alaves. Philipp Wollscheid, the defender, has signed for Metz.
Stoke could still revive their bid to sign Manchester City's Fabian Delph but it feels like this deal is unlikely now.

Gilbert, you could have been a legend, but instead you are just a sad footnote in the history of this great club, our record signing (for now).
To have so much natural talent and waste it is a crime.
