Not talking league position, but in general footballing terms?
I watched Swansea play Man Utd today and they looked much more cohesive and dangerous than us. I'd take several of their players, too.
I can only think of Watford, Middlesbrough and Sunderland on current form who look noticeably worse than us.
Is that fair, or a little bit Benji?

I think most teams demonstrate cohesion, a game plan, most have an identity, and the majority look like they know what they're trying to achieve.
We've been lacking most or all of these for the best part of 12 months.

We've been lacking most or all of these for the best part of 12 months. I definitely noticed that on Saturday. I thought West Ham didn't play as well, but they seemed to have more of a plan. The Stoke players looked like they were playing an impromptu game without having had a tactical meeting beforehand.

You can only play with the players you have.. Swansea.. Hull..change style and management. Good attacking football. Age defiantly is our issue. Watching Charlie Saturday. Ball went past him and it was like he was paddling in porridge. Need better younger midfielders. Takes pressure off the defense because they can win more tackles and get the ball forward quicker. Our defence is constantly under pressure because of this.

More to the point, it's a huge worry going into one of the most vital close seasons and transfer windows for many a year. Another summer spent pissing about concentrating on keeping possession in our back third rather than such stuff as defending properly and moving forward with pace and purpose, plus chasing marquee signings that won't come or don't fit any apparent plan when they do sign... I fear that by August the die will already be cast for 2017/18.

If the considerable problems are not addressed we're in trouble.

Stand still and you actually go backwards in this league.

There is a feeling of regression and not keeping up with the rest. Hull will also be a decent team next year under that management, should they stay up. Despite beating them we were totally overrun at times in that game and they were a vast improvement on the team that started the prem campaign
We have to try and keep our captain and Indie in the summer and then see if we can have a go at replacing dads army.
If we fail at the above we could struggle to get to the 40pt mark next season, but I also think Watford and Burnley may struggle and maybe 1 of the newcomers too

I haven't been shy in stating my views on Hughes. If we carry on in the vein we have for the last 18 months, combined with Hughes utter inability to get a set of professional footballers fit for the start of a competitive season, I fear we may be neck deep in the shit by Christmas.
Footballing wise I'd say we were one of the worst teams in the league, which given some of the players we have is bloody embarrassing.

The experience of the last two seasons suggests that MH simply lacks the ability to build a team, thus the players he brings in are brought in for the wrong reasons and may or may not fit into a coherent team plan. It is a hit or miss approach to management which ultimately must mean failure. Without a chamge of management in the summer, I would expect a relegation battle next season.

I didn't think too much of West Ham but no point pretending all is well , we are unbalanced and too old for the pace and tempo of teams in this league .
This summer is massive we need at least four or five players
2 x Full backs
1 Strong CM
A striker who compliments Saido as a minimum
we do have some good players but the team needs to be a unit and also the whole fitness regime needs a look at and changing no more slow starts

ERR - the ones below us in the league table right now ? It depends how far back you want to go... If you go back to TPs time then we probably have a great home record! We have won one of the last eight and I think that is the worst form in the league bar Sunderland

We may not be pulling up trees but a lot of clubs would love be in our position,British owned by a family with roots in the area, safe in hardest league in the world we have come a long way in 10 years, enjoy it.

However, further recruitment like Imbula, Bony, Joselu, Bojan and Berahino would threaten the stability of the club that we have perhaps started to take for granted.

Answer to the question is that when we finish 10th, and we all, we will be better than half the Premier League as the table doesn't lie at the end of the season.
