08:52 Frustration in the stands? MH: It's a case of expectation and that doesn't change. I've said before that I've tried to raise expectation and for the most part we've matched it. This year we've still got an opportunity to be in the top 10 but for some reason there is a perception we haven't achieved what we are capable of. The top end of the Premier League is very strong and few teams have got points of those few - Crystal Palace have in the last few weeks but us and Southampton have struggled. If expectation isn't met, pressure goes with the territory. We can handle that.
It's important to end the season on a high and put everyone in a good frame of mind looking into the new season. There doesn't seem to be too much respite in these times. Next year we will try to improve on what we were able to achieve this year.
08:48 Walters and Whelan rumours Both were said to set for discussions about their future as they head towards the final 12 months of their contracts.
MH: I think Jon is contracted for another year anyway so there's no rush in that regard. There's no problem there.
Glenn Whelan? That's the first I've heard of that!

People think it's a disappointing season because overall the football has been shit.
No other way to dress it up.
Apologies for the bad language.

Ok. I'll bite
If I had a penny for every time I heard this, be it from him or any other squad member this year- I probably wouldn't be very rich. But still...
The league is the weakest it's been in a long time.
I know it's an unpopular stance, but to cast Lee off like a leper as soon as Jack is ready was farcical. He's been our player of the season and without which, we'd be staring down the barrel of relegation. You don't treat a player of that importance off like that.
Yet will still find his way into the staring line-up.
Exactly what was said near the end of last season.
18-19 months or dour insipid piss that made Pulis away days feel like a fucking Brazilian carnival. What are you even doing in management if you can't see it?
Shit the bed. Sorry, but the longer this guy is at the club, the further we're going to decline. It's exactly the same sort of untouchable arrogance Pulis had in that abortion of a final season. With any luck it'll end in the same way.

I don't think Hughes is saying that is he? I think his comments are perfectly reasonable. He knows we've fallen short of the standards he himself set for this club and he's acknowledged that. Some people will pick fault with absolutely everything even when there is no need to pick fault.

It's a genuine reflection of how the club feel. Things are by and large ok in their world. Anyone expecting drastic changes in management, playing personnel or anything else this summer are going to be a long time waiting!

He's getting hammered over three words in his pre-match interview now. Is this what it's come to? The trouble is though mate his stock has fallen so far amongst a section of our support that he will get slaughtered for any minor slip of the tongue. It's mostly the way things go when a manager is entering the latter stages of his tenure. I don't mean he'll go in the summer but unless he deleivers us something spectacular next season this years supporter disquiet will turn into an outright revolt. Let's just hope that by this time next year it's not too late to do anything about it.

Why have none of the cowards asked about Shawcross?

Hughes isn't daft, Coates isn't daft, the fanbase aren't daft (well maybe some are! ) everyone knows it's been an underwhelming season. We have 4 games to put it right, end the season on a high and go into next season with a bit of momentum though, the post mortems by management and fans alike can wait until then.....

I hope you're right mate and I hope Hughes can turn it round. I suspect a defeat against the shammers on Saturday might produce some interesting scenes. As you say Coates isn't daft..... He might start using some of the steelwork from the corner to build a fence round the directors box

I don't agree with it but this is spot on IF we finish top 10 and 'make history' then all will be deemed well and the history book of SCFC will as well SO all we can hope for is he does address lb, midfield and rb and get Indi signed and stick in Europe for friendlies and realise the season starts mid August not October It is what it is

It's exactly the same sort of untouchable arrogance Pulis had in that abortion of a final season. With any luck it'll end in the same way. We were disappointed with the result last weekend but I expect us to react If I had a penny for every time I heard this, be it from him or any other squad member this year- I probably wouldn't be very rich. But still... What do you expect him to say? He told the truth, we were bad last week, but he expects the team to react to that. The Premier League tests you, it is a strong league. The league is the weakest it's been in a long time. Bollocks, the premier league is as strong as ever. It was important to get Jack Butland involved last weekend. I know it's an unpopular stance, but to cast Lee off like a leper as soon as Jack is ready was farcical. He's been our player of the season and without which, we'd be staring down the barrel of relegation. You don't treat a player of that importance off like that. It is coming towards the end of the season, a perfect time to get our star goal keeper some game time, Grant has been amazing, but to give him a rest in favor of getting Butland back to fitness makes perfect sense. We are waiting on Jon Walters. He missed out last weekend and hasn't trained much this week. Yet will still find his way into the staring line-up. And why not? Walters proved he is valuable recently against Hull. Were you complaining about him when he set Crouch up? We want to end the season well and then look to try and improve heading into next season. Exactly what was said near the end of last season. Again, what do you expect him to say? Of course he wants to end the season well and look to improve next season, that's exactly what he should be saying and aiming for. This year we've still got an opportunity to be in the top 10 but for some reason there is a perception we haven't achieved what we are capable of. 18-19 months or dour insipid piss that made Pulis away days feel like a fucking Brazilian carnival. What are you even doing in management if you can't see it? This sums your post up nicely - Over dramatic, and full of rubbish.

Expectations do play a part of course but when you turn up week in week out to see a bunch of multi millionaires under performing on and off the pitch after a hard week or normal life it is annoying and the further these clowns distance themselves from the real world the more abuse they are likely to get.
I watrched the second half of the mancunia derby in the pub last night , how much did that bag of utter shite cost to put on , our game seems to be falling way behind despite all the money in it

Because they get paid well, they can't off days and have to be perfect according to your standards? Do you think having money means you don't have hard weeks? Do you think being a multi millionaire means you don't have problems? Maybe you are the clown that needs to get in the real world.
