Lol, it sounds like utter bollocks tbh.
Futnsoccer, never even heard of them. Ultimately, Ryan has been a great servant to this club and I would have no ill-feeling towards him if he does move. It'd be a shame because he's teetering on the edge of legendary status at this club, but still, he will always be a club hero in my book.

Fortunately that dodgy site looks like it's just made it up. Which is good news because we can't afford to lose him.

Only reason i can think of is that he got booed after coming back from injury and mark hughes used him in his argument with pulis apart from that cant see why. He is a legend at the club a loyal servant in a day and age that is rare. He played a few bad games after injuring his back which is understandable. He even got slated on this forum ( mind you that is not rare in this day and age) .

Ive got a feeling he will go.
He has plenty of reasons, its not just about money. Plus hes fallen out with the Stoke fans a few times this season so isnt feeling that loved.

Can you imagine though if Leicester are interested as the article suggest, Shawcross/Huth double act for them.
I would be violently sick.

I can't really see any reasons he'd go. He and his wife have lived in Cheshire all their lives. Kids in school, families close by etc. On great money. Nearly 400 games. Captain. Not as if he'd be going to a club that would win stuff or give him a wage rise. Maybe this 'speculation' (such as it is) is just an agent planting a seed and making sure Stoke don't get cute and take him for granted in negotiations.

Regardless of this report, true or false, it does raise the question re unrest behind the scenes. His response to the booing was very out of character, criticism of his captaincy capabilities, fewer interviews after games ? Seeing Huth getting a new lease of life elsewhere, playing alongside a variety of defenders, variety of formations, perhaps he's considering other options Who's more important Ryan or Mark?

Wouldn't blame him if he did. The treatment he's received from some of the dickheads that follow this club really beggars belief.

Who's the more saleable asset? hell we could even do a two for one deal. Ryan has been a phenomenal player for us but I think we may well have seen the best of him. Its at that stage where I feel we should be letting players go and reinvesting rather than just hanging on to them until they are finished.

Ryan is definitely more worthy of one than any of them. All would have been free to leave at the end of their contract in the Summer for me, indeed if there was money on the table for Johnson in January I would have taken it. I just think as a general principal we should be moving players on for a fee when its likely they will go into decline rather than keeping them and letting them see out their careers here.

This is pretty standard process in that unlikely any top player will accept the first offer without tinkering it a bit. The good news is that we are in talks. I expect this to be concluded soon, and I agree with the posts on here which acknowledge that we need to keep this man.

Quite how you let your Captain, fan favourite and talisman to run his contract down so that this even becomes an issue is beyond me.
Too many people coasting and too comfortable in key positions at the club.

Rather have terry than him anyday My initial reaction to John Terry being linked to Stoke (just speculation of course) is no way would I want him here because of some of his comments and behaviour away from football. If losing Ryan and Bruno is most likely then maybe JT alongside a younger CB would make some sense. Do we have a young CB at the club who is ready to step in? Can we source / attract one? The wider concern is the unrest bubbling under with (some) supporters re those players staying and others being tempted top leave. Will the likes of Shaqiri, Arnie, Bojan want to be here? I wonder what PC is making of all of this We need a good finish to the season

Shawcross won't be affected at all by a few fans giving him shit, Stoke is a community driven club and fans are passionate, to even suggest he wouldn't sign because of a few loud mouths is obsurd
Ultimately it'll come down to the management, if we're sticking with Hughes and he sees Shawcross as the rock at the back he'll sign i think, if he has plans to sign indi and replace Shawcross with a ballplayer then he'll obviously be off like Huth
All in all it's probably just noise from his agent trying to get him the best deal possible

Thank God the right-back situation, the left-back situation, the other centre-halves, the midfield situation, and the striker situation are all in such good shape that we are allowed the luxury of taking a leap into the unknown in discarding our 400-game lynchpin captain, eh?

Rather have terry than him anyday Even if you think John Terry would come to the club, and I don't, he is 7 years older than Ryan who himself will be 30 next birthday. We can't run the operation like some sort of Pensioners Club, it will catch up with us in the end.
