If there are I can highly recommend this... Where do people stand on the Jim Beam vs Jack Daniels front? For the 'bog standard' bottle I'm definately in the Jack Daniels camp, but when it comes to their, shall we say, 'better' bottles I switch over to Jim Beam. The one posted above & Jim Beam Black being my two favourites. I wonder how long it'll be untill someone says summat hilarious like "I prefer custard creams"!

Not a massive Bourbon fan no more, a little sweet for my taste. I was always more a Jim Beam fan, a little smoother I thought. I prefer a Metaxa in the sweet spirit range, and have been hipflasking some Goan HoneyBee Brandy recently. Which is nice.

I'll throw another two names into the ring ....Hiram Walker and Four Roses that are not bad , not really a bourbon person myself , more of a single malt fan but I don't mind an occasional drop.

I read somewhere that due to increasing demand the standard Jim Beam is aged only 3 years now instead of 4. I am a keen bourbon drinker by the way. So I went shopping around and came across Ezra Brooks 90% proof. It beats Beam and Daniels by a Kentucky mile - at least to my taste. Quite hard to find though but worth the chase. www.ezrabrooks.com

Absolutely correct Bisp. It's a Tennessee whiskey due to its charcoal mellowing.

Always remember a Dirty Harry line when he is on board a plane ordering a drink. " Ma'am, Can I get a John Daniels" " Do you mean a Jack Daniels" " When you have known him as long as I have you get to call him John"

Woodford Reserve is decent, but their "Double Oaked" is top notch.
Also Bulleit Bourbon 10 Year is another solid choice.

And they're Confederate family, full on rebel. I've got the music to Smokey and the Bandit in me noggin after reading that I know a few old-schoolers down here that still do a bit of backyard brewing. That shit will put you on your arse very quickly, as I found out the first time I was brave enough to drink with them. There's also a legit local "Moonshine" distillery here in Richmond, and although it's been repackaged and remarketed to the "mixology" loving hipster crowd, it's actually not a bad drink. www.belleislecraftspirits.com/
