Gird your loins for a Crouch start. Did it at xmas to bypass the press. Worked ok but for brainfarts at the back. Hope is that with their missing personnel and entering the phase where they're Klopped out already we might not need it. Can't really see us doing the three at the back at home just yet (we're not quite ready for the future) but I'd go.. Grant Ryan Bruno Muniesa Diouf Cameron Imbula Ramadan Shaqiri Berahino Arnautovic And properly 6-1 them lah. *time yet to change me mind. I see you've left Allen out. Is that because he's a headless chicken or to stop him picking up his 10th yellow? If Shaq is fit I'd be tempted to take Arnie out for the card reason too. I'd go: GRANT BARDS SHAWX BMI ERIC CAMERON MUNIESA SHAQ IMBULA RAMADAN BERAHINO And I see you've got Bards and Eric in yr free footballing team too. ?

Not much choice Johnson has been awful since the transfer speculation. We don't have another left back. Just trying to create the most solid platform to allow the players that can play to do so. Its the reality of what we have which is a bit of a mess, even so I don't think there is any merit in how Hughes is setting us up again he's playing Berahino but he's not taking account of the fact he's playing him and its extremely worrying.

Where will Shaqiri play?
Out right or in behind? My guess is out wide with Ramadan on the bench.

If he is fit and plays Shaq is best at N0 10 to see if he can supply Berahino either that ot move them around so Arnie drops into the 10 role sometimes , would play ramadan

We will know by an hour before kick off where Shaqiri really stands with Hughes. After the last few weeks, if he is not at the forefront of an attacking formation at number 10, with Ramadan and Arnie either side of him (or a combination thereof), we know one of two things:
1. Shaqiri has majorly pissed off Hughes with his namby-pamby calf niggle and will probably be consigned to the bench for the rest of the season and sold in the summer; and/or 2. Hughes has completely misplaced his balls and is now settled on Pulisball mark II as his modus operandi and Crouch and Walters will probably be starting!

Shaq's got very few minutes under his belt and I would actually expect him to start on the bench. The only question is whether it would be best to start him given his propensity to pull up. However, if we go two in midfield (Cameron and Allen) he should play but don't hold your breath.

76 minutes for the Swiss only last week......
Maybe my views on number 2 most likely being fairly close to the mark of late colours my judgement somewhat!

I think you may be in the minority with that gem! What gem? He's a young lad learning his trade. I'll be disappointed but it certainly won't be an outrage, as you describe it. An outrage was flogging our best players for peanuts in the 90's.

3 wins in 17 without Shaqiri.. dear me, didn't realise the stats were that bad. Could do with him, Arnie and Ramadan tomorrow because Liverpool's defence isn't exactly great and they've lost most of their creativity through injury.

For the first time in a long time for me the "How We Play" matters more than the result.
Not many expect points from this one but if we set up to play Hoof ball again then its goodbye Mr Hughes from me.
I went for a 1-4 which shows which version of Stoke I expect to turn up.
