We have free speech. As long as we don't say anything. There's so many people who do need a slap because they can take offence at anything. A woman tho? That's incredibly low Just because she's a "Woman" doesn't mean she deserves any special treatment. She's treated equally.

Apart from that, he didn't actually threaten her. I only feel sorry for her because of the number of people being offended on her behalf, when she clearly wasn't. The worst you could say about what Moyes did was that he made a gauche joke. If that's now enough to hang somebody, we may as well all give up now.

It's important that we take every word that comes out of people's mouths literally. Of course the prison population would be in the tens of millions and everybody else would be sacked, but that's the price of tolerance.

Nothing malicious - just an old-school idiot who can't take criticism and struggles to deal with the media - how they ever thought he could manage Man U I will never know. He's damaged his already fragile reputation further and that is punishment enough.

Do you really mean that,or are you being ironic? It's so hard to tell.
If you're being ironic, I hope you lose your job. And if you mean it, I hope you get a mild cold.
Isn't that how it all works?
Take your time answering. I know it's a full time job being offended on other people's behalf.

"I wish he had died in that crash and that he had been decapitated and that his head had rolled off in front of his wife and that a jagged piece of metal debris from the car had got stuck in his eye and blinded him. And then his head had rolled on a few more yards into a pool of boiling oil and that his head had retained just enough neural capacity for him to be able to think “ooh, this is bit hot” before the whole thing exploded into tiny pieces. It's a JOKE, you know, like they do on Top Gear. When I say I wish Richard Hammond HAD died and I wish he had been decapitated, of course, it’s a joke. But coincidentally it’s also what I believe."

I was making the point that men are almost always stronger than women. I wasn't talking about moyes specifically. But it's got nothing to do with that, the topic is Moyes and his comment to the female reporter which was a joke taken out of proportion. He never hit her and he wasn't going to hit her.

The Oatcake is quickly turning into an EDF messageboard. Do you think if he'd threatened in a jokey way to slap a male reporter, who laughed back, that it would be an issue? Moyes seems to be guilty of nothing more than being socially awkward and making a crap joke.

Let's not forget it was JOKE comment, know women have complained for so long to be treated as a equals in a man's world and when they get treated as such they then play the female card, you can't say thatto me I am a female but if he had said that to a male it would never have been reported.

I won't waste my time bracketing you. Predictably. You already have but that must be a full time preoccupation for you. You not only know everything, you also know how everybody else should think, behave and speak. And anybody who doesn't do as you say is a bigot, racist, sexist or fascist. No need to argue the point when you can just apply a label. There can be no irony, no self-awareness, no subtlety and no humour. Only name calling. You must protect the women and the BAME and LGBT communities because they are such fragile creatures and can't take a joke or see irony and the use of humour. Even in this case with David Moyes where the woman involved hasn't complained or said anything, you must still step in to defend her, because you know what's best for her, the dear, sweet, fragile little thing. Let's try again. Who is the butt of this joke? And who might still share some of the same attitudes with those men?

This being polically correct thing has got silly now
I remember when I went on dragons den, I didn't get a penny and deborah meaden got really arsy with me, just because I told her to run along and sort out some coffee and biscuits while the men talk business
