He's fucked! However, shadow sports minister Dr Rosena Allin-Khan called on the Football Association to get involved. "This is disgraceful. David Moyes cannot get away with these sexist threats - the FA must take action immediately," she said. Sexist???? What the fuck has sexist got to do with it???? Reporters can be a pain in the arse, and the pressure Moyes is under right now, especially after a game when tension is soring, stupid questions that have no relevance to the game can (I suppose, for a manager, especially when his neck is on the line) be annoying....just ask Roy "who's mobile's that???" Keane!!! She knows the type of job she's in, if she wants to kick someone when they're already down, then don't go skwarking when someone hits back!!! And before someone replies saying "do I condone hitting women then???" The answer to that is "yes"....er....I mean "NO!!!" 😆 My point is, the press make their own bed, they can't pull their face when someone tells them to lie in it!!! Metaphorically speaking that is!!!

If I said that at work to a female I'd probably get sacked, or at least severely reprimanded and I would think that would be fair.
Just cause she laughs doesn't make it ok either. That's just a way of dealing with it a work situation.
You cant compare a man threatening a woman with a slap to a man threatening a man. Look at the stats for violence against women. Having worked in an A&E its a major problem and this is not helpful. Its encouraging to violent men who are prone to abuse women. It difficult enough for women to break through in these kind of professions and this is not helpful.
Its good he apologised and he recognises his error but its really poor.
I would be worried about the mentality of those passing off as nothing. Banter is just an excuse for getting away with abusing people and thinking its all a joke.

jesus wept, is that your honest thoughts on it?? a man who threatens a woman is no man at all, quite the opposite a famous man who is obviously insecure with himself and his own ineptitude, threatens to hit a woman journalist who only doing her job, well, it's utterly is disgraceful if he said it to a man, it wouldn't be 'top banter' (and i fucking hate the word banter - it's for those without a real sense of humour), it would still be highly inflammatory, as Moyes is a man in a position of power to encourage others for ore acts of violence there's no 'victim' mentality, he said the words, therefore he is the aggressor. Him and his stupidity can have no complaints Also, if you think there is 'nothing wrong' with it, please have a think about your own morals and what you consider right or wrong Why do you think she's laughing with him at his joke? You can clearly tell it's not a threat. Stop being a fairy and making something serious out of a harmless joke between two HUMAN BEINGS. People can't say anything anymore because people get all upset over nothing. Have a good cry about it, might make you feel better. it might be a nervous laugh because she's intimidated and doesn't know how else to react? if he'd told her just to fuck off i'd have no problem with that, but a threat of violence against a woman is something else i actually don't think it's that funny, and having been in situations where well know people do daft things, i also know how peopel are bemused at the time it happens and sit there with inane grins on their faces as they're too shocked to do anything else he knows he's wrong, other well respected journo's (not the shit tabloid ones) know he's wrong too. He's been in the game long enough to know what to say and what not to say this isnt about PC or being a fucking 'fairy', so before you get all agitated and reply in kind, just sit back and think what it all means

How would a female journalist who wants to keep her her line of work react when threatened with violence by a premier league manager? the appalling thing for me is that millions will see this and think it's ok to joke about beating women. When you've seen first hand what happens it's disgusting to think that a man in his position can say this (even if it was a joke) it's always going to get 'misinterpreted' so he should have shut his mouth. He has been a premier league manager for a while, so he knows the game

Are you serious? If he said that to a man it would be top banter from Moyes, but because it's a woman they feel the need to bring out the "Oh I'm a woman I'm the victim again" bollocks. He's done nothing wrong at all. jesus wept, is that your honest thoughts on it?? a man who threatens a woman is no man at all, quite the opposite a famous man who is obviously insecure with himself and his own ineptitude, threatens to hit a woman journalist who only doing her job, well, it's utterly is disgracefulif he said it to a man, it wouldn't be 'top banter' (and i fucking hate the word banter - it's for those without a real sense of humour), it would still be highly inflammatory, as Moyes is a man in a position of power to encourage others for ore acts of violence there's no 'victim' mentality, he said the words, therefore he is the aggressor. Can't believe how PC we all are, what a bunch of fucking fairys ... what's the world coming too when a premier league manager can't even threaten to hit women reporters? Blah blah old days better etc anyone who thinks differently is a boring twat etc i despair the irony is half the board on here would be up in arms, being 10 fucking men if anything like this had been said to their nearest and dearest (or stoke). it wasn't funny, this is the main point. If you ask me, it was a nervous laugh but, 'bantz' nonetheless, and Moyes is 'lad'

When I listened to it, you could hear the laughter in his and her voice. Definitely light hearted with no malice intended.
One of those things which although regrettable and ill advised has been blown out of all proportion IMO.
He apologised that should be it.

That to me, doesn't sound like a joke. I still think the laughter in the video is nervousness, not 'haha' funny you're right about him not apologising outside of football, he'd have been sacked straight away violence against women is deplorable, and when you have to pick up teeth and hold faces back together, the humour soon wears off it wasn't, still isn't or ever will be funny

What if he'd said to her what he really wanted to say ... "why don't you just fuck off with those sort of questions eh"?
But he didn't did he? He tried to be a bit more polite about it and attempted to dress it up with a bit of humour, maybe it wasn't actually that funny but what he was actually doing, was letting her know what he thought of her questions, he wasn't threatening her, he knew it, she knew it and most level head people will know it too.

They will be burning books next ffs. The bloke says something stupid as banter and hey ho it's blown all out of proportion.
If I was a manager I would refuse to be interviewed after the match, let a TV person do it someone who is trained to perform like a seal in front of a camera.
I don't like Moyes but sometimes you just wonder what kind of agenda is happening in this country when they try to witch hunt a football coach out of his job for a bit of banter.

My take on it is he's just a bit of a dick. It looks terrible written down but it is clearly nowhere near as threatening when heard.
That said he was trying to give her a warning, many a true word is said in jest, not the hitting part of course, they "be careful" part.
My overriding feeling is just what a knob. It's the kind of thing a nervous 13 year old who doesn't know how to act around girls would joke about.
Whilst he shouldn't be hung, drawn and quartered, he has demonstrated that he has fuck all personality, charm or charisma. Same goes for anyone who finds it all decent "bantz" in my opinion.

wow we really do have some neanderthal Stoke fans.
A person in his position should know better. Hes the manager of a football club not some drunken hooligan.
Hes become an embarrassment to Sunderland and they will have to give him the chop.
The reporter did nothing wrong and shouldnt have to accept intimidation for doing her job. The fact he made it sexist just makes it work.

disgusting from Moyes fallen very far in my estimation of him as a 'gentleman' manager Are you serious? If he said that to a man it would be top banter from Moyes, but because it's a woman they feel the need to bring out the "Oh I'm a woman I'm the victim again" bollocks. He's done nothing wrong at all. I agree with that however he wouldnt say that to a bloke
