The first season was good under Hughes, now its very slowly going downhill season by season. Spending money like its going out of fashion, on players that aren't working Then after spending the money, the players don't even get into the squad. Yes we may be 9th in the league, but we only need 2 more defeats and were 16th should results not go our way. I don't for one second think we will be in that position this season however there is cause for concern.
Over £24million for the 2012 season hughes spent on players at QPR, and masses more on wages. He gambled the money on quick fixes, with the hope of a return. it didn't work. He's now spent much more here with potential for more big buys.
With the exception of chasing Berahino, the guy looks absolutely lost on the pitch, and after 4 games not even coming close to scoring. Yet on his day at west brom the guy was banging them in for fun.
The performances this year from a lot of games have been at best shocking and this year have been on a par if not worse with the performances under Pulis, with lack of fight and poor decision making. This is a continuous problem and something Hughes does not learn his lessons from.
I would hate us to be in a position next year when were fighting for premiership survival, and if we do I'm worried we don't have the players or the manager to pull through.

I can't see any similarites between what's happening here and what happened at QPR myself.

QPR were poorly run club and Hughes did nothing to improve the performance on the pitch. Hence they were relegated and he was fired. Stoke are well run club and Hughes has done nothing very little to improve our performance on the pitch. We should be safe this season; however, based on this season and last, I have very little confidence that Hughes can turn this around over the Summer.

10+ million "next level" players who don't seem to want to play for the shirt.... Sounds familiar

Were QPR EVER in the top half of the league under Hughes? That's where we have spent the majority of our time since he arrived. I'd say Sunderland would be a far better comparison with QPR.

The performances and football are getting worse every year. Sooner or later we are going to fall down the table, and fast.

The performances and football are getting worse every year. Sooner or later we are going to fall down the table, and fast. Sooner or later EVERY team in the Premier League outside the current top 7 will probably get relegated. Most of them BUT NOT US have already done so at least once. I just don't see the relevance in comparing us to QPR. We won't be relegated this season and we may finish the season on a stronger run than we did last season. We are comfortably in the top half for results since the turn of the year - i.e. the second half of the season.

No but we are turning into the team tony pulis left behind. Defensively solid and hard working? During his time at Stoke Hughes's sides have conceded 3 goals per season on average more than Pulis's over a similar period. That is playing a more expansive brand of football.

In the respect that hughes big money transfers struggle to make the grade yes. Imbula, shaq, even at city with robhinio and jo
But here hughes has to buy cheaper players and for some reason he gets better out of them than his expensive player... Arnie bojan pieters
