Saido, but with close support from Shaq as a number 10. He got three in a training friendly last week, and needs to be backed to get some proper match fitness and sharpness.

Even at this early stage.. Doubts about this signing creaping in. Can't keep blaming it on not being fit... I mentioned before,a half fit fuller could still turn a game for you. Not sure if at this moment berahino could. At this early stage? Fuck off! You've slagged him off from day 1. Has tone sent you another text?

He's had virtually no service but as a forward he needs to show more or it will be just a excuse.. Not fit and no service.

What service has Berahino been given so far? Exactly!! Come on lads his first two starts have been against Man City and Chelsea where we spent most of that 180 minutes defending! Give the bloke a chance eh.

You obviously can't see what everyone else can. And you're a fucking hypocrite: "Im not holding my breath about him...but its not like he has missed 10 open goals ! As some have mentioned,he is there to put away chances from a non existent service from the wings ? Otherwise he is going to look shit ! 2 good wingers and lets all judge him then." As long as we put in a better performance than we did there last season I don't really care who starts but I can't see what Shaqiri has done to warrant a start this Saturday🤔

He's played no worse than any other of our strikers since he signed.
It's completely unbelievable. 'Doubts creeping in', no wonder when you write him off after 2 games!
Honestly as a fanbase we deserve every bit of bad luck we get. Fucking nutjobs.

The 442 is okay for getting draws, but we create next to nothing. In my opinion having that creative 3 in behind the striker is a far better choice, especially against Huth and Morgan.

Mate like I said to you on the Shaqiri thread the other week we all have our opinions and mine is he's done fuck all to warrant a start.Fair enough you disagree that's fine but one thing is for sure we need to set up with absolutely no space in behind against Leicester. How the manager chooses to set up I'm not sure but it's been plain to see that they're back to the way they were last season with fuck all possession and playing on the counter attack

Stop that and we stop them.

4-4-2 served a purpose against Man City and Chelsea by getting a point (nearly 2 points) when in all likelihood we would normally have got none. However, the lack of creativity in our midfield in particular is one that cannot carry on from now until the end of the season (Arsenal at home aside maybe)

With Diouf and Cameron picking up knocks (and god knows what's happening with Johnson), wonder if we could potentially see Edwards getting a start?

With Diouf and Cameron picking up knocks (and god knows what's happening with Johnson), wonder if we could potentially see Edwards getting a start? It'd be a bit of a surprise if Johnson didn't make it, although you just never know with him (which is one of the reasons he'll probably be off come the summer) With Cameron and Diouf, their issues could be something or nothing - although being withdrawn after an hour on Friday night, then not being able to play on Tuesday (and mention that it was an injury he was concerned about before meeting up with the USA) does elevate the concern with Geoff.

I think Geoff will miss out with the thinking that he could return against Burnley on Tuesday.

Interesting to see if Hughes leaves a fit Shaqiri out, after he got through nearly all the Swiss game without any problems and looked quite good. Mind you, he left him on the bench 2 or 3 times just before he got injured.
I do prefer Arnie on the left, but you can't leave Sobhi out. It's a bit awkward.
Don't suppose Sobhi could be an option as the No.10, or he could finally give Shaq a go there.
Ramadan's got the legs and the vision (if not the eye for goal!)

No, pretty sure he started on the right. Has he ever played more than the odd game there? Where does this assertion come from? Dunno, but I've seen it loads of times. That Swiss fanboy of his suggests it's the case too. I wouldn't mind him being given a go there, but long-term you can see Arnie being frustrated if he's on the right to accommodate Ramadan. It's a bit tricky. He needs to play as 10 in the center behind diouf. He is much better there. He showed maybe 70% yesterday. He is lacking match practice but he is fit and will getting much better...in the national team he always plays in the middle and always deliver great performances...i hope hughes realise that soon...he is not a classy winger... Thats why hughes will never be a top team coach or never with success. He is missing something. I just can not believe how stubborn he is. Shaqiri would be a great winger in a top team because there he will get many passes from his quality teammates. but sorry with stoke this does not work. in the swiss national team shaq has not to back track and plays normaly not as winger or is free to change during the game. shaq is the key for the success for stoke on the nr. 10!!!!!!!!! give him 5 games as 10 and he will show that he is worldclass. right now i can not watch it anymore. it is a shame how shaq is wastet on the winger because his teammates almost never give him the ball.

My main concern about this is that Arnie ends up on the right. So, arguably our best player is the one who plays out of position, although according to Swissattack, Shaq has been doing the same. Perhaps him and Arnie can swap during a game????

Grant
Johnson Ryan Bruno Muni
Arnie Geoff Allen Sobhi
Shaq
Berahino
All dependant on availability though. If no Geoff, I would imagine it'd be Whelan but would prefer Imbula. Any one of Johnson/Diouf/Bardo at RB all depending on fitness.
