True, but his application and performances didn't help either, I don't think he should've been kicked out of the team for so long (maybe not starting but substitute appearances), but to say that Berahino still being in the team is hypocritical because of Bony's exclusion is just daft. Not saying that. Just saying any striker will look bad with little service. Berahino would start every game for me. Agreed, that hypocrisy point was aimed at what my original reply was to.

A long way away plenty of time for more realistic thoughts, in the meantime I'm contemplating a rather funky if idealistic 352. A rather different Foxlot than the ten man thing at our place, but still, they weren't coping too well in the initial phases. As ever the sending off created a whole new dynamic, shocking that we didn't kneel on their necks. We owe them one. Grant Shawcross Bruno Pieters* Diouf Cameron Allen Imbula Ramadan Arnautovic Berahino *or Muniesa KTF Shaq for imbula and id love that I would go for that too, more of a 343, if Shaq is up to spec. Fingers crossed he gets through the Swiss match. It was Whelan, Imbula, Allen, and Bojan {no Arnie} at xmas at ours.

I just get the feeling that three at the back would help to nullify the goblin. I'm not thinking about Mahrez!

Grant Diouf Shawx BMI Erik Cameron Allen Ramadan Afellay Arnie Berahino
Got to put Arnie back on the left, is a different player
Rama lets have look on the right, failing that Shaq.
Believe Afellay would make a big differebce in quality, pace, holding the ball up and creativity.
No probs Mame at RB, its his best position! And his pace v Vardy might be needed

Diouf to rb for me he's a good defender and gives his all the entire match. Losing Allen and Cameron's athleticism in the middle versus Leicester would be a real shame and very inviting for pressure. Those two just seem to gel together in recent weeks working with Arnie and Sobhi.

With Bardo out and Johnson being injured/really wank recently, what should the team vs the snakes be? I'd go: Grant Diouf Shawcross Indi Pieters Cameron Allen Inbula Ramadan Berahino Arnie Diouf at the minute is a better right back than Johnson. Which is mental but I actually think he is. Pieters is still a better left back than Muni. Imbula is good in away games and playing alongside those two may give him the freedom he needs. We also need some attacking threat from midfield and he can give that. It is a sad condemnation of our team when it's is thought that Diouf is good enough to play right back! I am sure he might give 100% but he is an error waiting to happen. Johnson can be infuriating sometimes but in terms of quality far superior. I am fed up with tryers! I expect every player to be giving 100%. Even with injuries we have enough quality in our squad to be afraid of no one. Grant Johnson Shawcross Indi Pieters Cameron Allen Arnautovic Shaqiri Sobhi Berahino Subs: Imbula, Whelan, Afellay, Bony, Diouf, Muniesa, Given It is about time Hughes started backing his judgement and transfer team. If he is to truly move our club forward we should thank certain players for their effort over the years but Walters, Crouch and Whelan are players from our past and desperately need replacing.

Berahino has done nothing , to merit another start by the bony rule it's 10 games in the wilderness for him . I read the comment but then when I saw the poster I realised! You truly are a cretin!

I definitely think Ramadan has the defensive capability and the hard working attitude to be an effective wing-back. Add that to Diouf's pace as his counterpart on the left and I really like the look of us in that system, I would also suggest that Cameron has the athleticism to function as the sole DM screening the back 3.
----------------------Grant--------------------- -------Shawcross---BMI-------Pieters------ Diouf--------------Cameron------------Sobhi ------------Allen-------------Afellay----------- -------------------Arnautovic------------------ -------------------Berahino------------------------
Couldn't really find room for Imbula, which is disappointing, but he's a useful man to have on the bench. Same for Shaqiri - but leaving them both out does mean 30odd million quids worth of talent on the bench.... Shaqiri could be quite the impact player late on against a tiring Huth and Morgan

It'd be interesting to know if Johnson played in the friendly today or Edwards played from the get go.
Playing Edwards came into my mind but I don't think it'll happen.

My only worry is having shawcross on the right side, not sure he's quick enough.

Would love to see those two upfront together, think it would work But I think Hughes will go with Walters again to battle Huth.

My only worry is having shawcross on the right side, not sure he's quick enough. It's a consideration. A task that I reckon Ryan would be up to. Not a certainty, but it would be a move that would better balance a back three. With Diouf being nippy as a counter balance. Cameron could be decent there too. But enjoying his midfield resurgence. Good dilemmas.

www.si.com/planet-futbol/2017/03/29/usa-panama-draw-world-cup-qualifier-christian-pulisic*Geoff Cameron remains incredibly important.* You notice when Cameron is there, and you notice when he’s not. After being out injured for the two losses in November, Cameron was solid at right back in the Honduras win, but he missed out again with a muscle strain on Tuesday. Not coincidentally, the U.S. defense had its issues at times without him (and John Brooks, who left camp with a sickness).
“Cameron had a muscle strain and wasn’t able to get through it over the last couple days,” said Arena. “We took him out around 55 minutes against Honduras and he wasn’t able to recover enough to play in this game.”Doesn't sound like Geoff's injury is too bad. Hopefully he's okay to play at the weekend. It'd be a shame to have to mess with the midfield. However, Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli) Moussa Sow (Fenerbahçe) and Mame Biram Diouf (Stoke City) were forced to withdraw from the game due to injuries in the match against Nigeria.
Mame Diouf also apparently missed their game with an injury, so hopefully that's not too bad either.

This game has come at the worst time for us. Leicester confident and on the up. They will play last season's 4-4-1-1 and look to hit Vardy early when possession changes. I would definitely play Glenn Johnson at RB if he's fit. They have some threat down both sides and he has the experience to look after that. Gray will give him a tough time if he plays - been impressed with his directness. The key to beating Leicester is to defend deep and deny space for Vardy to run in behind, and to move Huth and Morgan about the pitch. 1 up for me, a 2 weeks fitter Saido darting around them, and a blur of Marko, Ramadan and a supporting centre mid from deep running at them. I really hope its Imbula in a box to box role, getting at Drinkwater when he's looking to hit the front men with long early passes. No idea how he's been in training and it would be a risk. Shaq to come on from the bench. Grant Johnson Ryan BMI Pieters
Allen Cameron Imbula
Arnie Saido Ramadan He might go with Walters but I think Huth and Morgan would rather have a fight than have players breaking at them from deep and the wings. Tough game, but if we stay in it and keep tight I think we have the quality to stop the new Leicester bandwagon.

I'm never sure why managers prefer to stick people like walters up against Morgan and Huth. It works perfectly into their hands. Both of them however are very poor with their feet, stick a tricky quick player zipping around them and they can't deal. Fluid 3 in behind Saido for me: Grant Johnson Shawcross BMI Pieters Cameron Allen Shaq / Arnie / Ramadan Berahino

I could go with that too. Looking at so many different combinations on this thread makes me wonder whether we have an embarrassment of riches or an unbalanced squad.
Hard to see how we get Shaq, Saido, Ramadan and Marko into the same 11. And that's without his penchant for SJW and to say nothing of Bony, Diouf or dare I say Imbula or Bojan.

Geoff's a delicate little flower isn't he? We have way too many of them. He's played 141 of the 181 Premier League games (when selected) since he signed so not really. One injury this season of any note, that's about it really.....

Against Huth and Morgan we should be playing around their feet at pace not whack it up to a holding/knock on chappie as that would be meat and drink for them
They both have the speed of turning circles of a turtle on his back nowadays

I think Walters is the better player but we desperately need Berahino to get a goal for so many reasons.
I'd start this one with Walters and start Berahino in a more benign game say against Hull.

Even at this early stage.. Doubts about this signing creaping in. Can't keep blaming it on not being fit... I mentioned before,a half fit fuller could still turn a game for you. Not sure if at this moment berahino could.
