On facebook they are a hoot. I hope we are using their enthusiasm for marketing purposes and at least selling a few shirts. I don't care why people suppourt us, frankly. I used to go in the boothen paddock (my mates dad was a steward and used to let us climb over the turnstiles) and next to us stood some mancs who followed sammy macilroy whoever he played for so following a player isn't new. I reckon we should be there pre season at least for a bit. I think July in Egypt would be a tad on the warm side! Can't be any warmer than Florida was last Summer. 99 deg F at 9 in the evening, and humid.

Yes, but does it make any real sense to play in such temperatures? How much pre-season fitness are players likely to get from it? We start new seasons slowly and look off the pace as it is. Some might consider it a useful way of marketing and promoting the club but realistically the management team should be coming up with a pre-season that gets the players up to a much higher level of fitness than we have seen in previous seasons.

I hope we can have a really good preseason this summer so we can start the season at the same time as the other teams, not like this season where we played almost 20% of the games before we started to gel and get results. I really don't see the point of going to the US, the Middle-East or anywhere far away. A preseason should be about preparations for the upcoming season and nothing else. Stay in Europe and be ready when the season starts I say! ![:))](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/jitsPgqXBozY69AOPrPg.gif)

We should be targetting Championship clubs who are ahead of us in terms of fitness and playing at least 6-7 games. Im sick of the season starting in October. We really must address it.

And I really can't understand why we have to play catch up every season either! Why give away so many unnecessary points early on? They count just the same, but we need to play more games and we need to find a first 11 that we play in the 2-3 last friendlies before the seson starts as well. ![(thumbsup)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/q4Mqf5MqRwT9PY8UitYa.gif)

I think dr Hesham has become one of the decent posters on here and hopefully will remain even if Ramadan leaves in a few seasons. Hopefully he understands that this club is like terminal illness once it's in your blood there is no going back 😁🇪🇬Potters

There is a whole world to exploit, although I doubt there would be much revenue for shirts, they would just buy one and counterfeit it, which is my experience of selling into India. Stoke has an advantage in our colour being red, which is the most popular colour in the East and a sign of good fortune. What a lot of people don't realize is the tremendous wealth there now is in the East. There are rapidly increasing numbers of people that are starting to have huge disposable income and can not only buy luxury western goods, but also travel the world. But to exploit this, you have to make the overture to them, sitting a expecting them to "come to you" doesn't work. www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league-tours-tapping-far-2082077

This is a great idea to make advantage of the current popularity Ramadan, and Stoke City, has in Egypt. Selling shirts is not such a good idea unless you're willing to sell them for 5% of what they cost in the UK (did some google search and apparently it costs about 70£) in order to reach the majority of young Egyptians cause most of them only buy knock off shirts. or about 25% to be in the range of authentic shirts of local teams (not so many people buy those) This is of course due to the current situation in Egypt and the crazy exchange rate for foreign currencies in comparison to the local currency. You can of course make use of the enormous traffic you get on fb and youtube. Arsenal already done this after they signed Elneny, they hired Arabic speaking Admins in their fb page and they post occasional Arabic post directed not only to the Egyptians fans coming for Elneny, but for the whole Arabic-speaking fans. They also make videos where Elneny speaks to the fans and answers their questions.

I spotted these shop.spreadshirt.co.uk/stokecitees/-A110552451 - Not sure how many have shipped to Egypt, but they look OK.

Why not do something smart and business savvy....
Have them made in Egypt. Use finest Egyptian cotton. Sell them at Egyptian prices (affordable to the average rural goat herder). Marginal profit but sell a gazillion.

My youngest has just returned from a 2week holiday in Egypt and he said they found out he was a Stoke fan they treated him like royalty....they were all asking him about Stoke and has he seen Ramadan play ...he is worshipped out there ...loads of them are supporting Stoke (albeit at a distance ) but good for them, the lad is brilliant he gives his all on the pitch ...and you conna ask for more than that ... :-)
