One off side and no touch of the ball? Not sure this will work out please prove me wrong.

One off side and no touch of the ball? Not sure this will work out please prove me wrong. I can tell you now it won't work. The system does not suit him. Once again we buy a player and have no idea how to use him. File under Allen, Imbula, Shaqiri, Joselu etc, etc.

He's already shaping up to be another Imbula-style flop.

Surely must be ready to start against Boro and given a run of games with Allen alongside and Arnie & Shaqiri supporting

If he is surrounded by talent like Afellay, Shaq and Arnie he'll get some. Crouch, Adam or Whelan aren't the most mobile off the ball movers when looking to play a one-two in the middle.

Let's not give Berahino shit, throwing him on with no support around him after plan A of lumping it up to Crouch has failed is bullshit
Either play him in a 4-4-2 or play a REAL No.10 behind him... if we can afford to, which we probably can't because it's either Joe Allen at No.10 or Adam and Whelan get massively exposed
Swings and roundabouts i guess

He had 23 minutes coming on against Everton, he had 32 coming on at West Brom and he had half an hour or so today against Spurs and he's being partially written off already?
How frustratingly predictable, in fact when he signed for us a few folk jokingly commented on here "How long before he's written off and called shit?" Well the answer lies here it seems.
"I'm not writing him off, i'm just being a petulant prat" - Sorry, just typing the response so you can copy and paste it.

The only way Berahino won't work out is if we don't create chances for him.
Do we create chances for forwards?

Agreed. Stinking abomination of a thread. In over 1 hour of football is it too much to ask one fucking shot on goal? What, when he's been here five minutes, he's not match fit, and he's coming on part-way through the second half, normally when the strikers have had next to no service all afternoon?

Again agree 100%. I have no problem with Berahino. The question is can we get the best out of him. Im not sure we can. I'll go further and suggest Hughes hadn't got a bloody clue at the moment.

I have said this before and it brings no pleasure, only stoke would spend 15 mill on a striker who hasn't scored for over a year and was banned for drugs!. 15million!!!. It makes imbula at £18 mill a good buy. We chased him for 2 years, while we watched his career being killed and then still brought him!. Also agree with comments the current system of 1 up top will not work with him, needs someone to play off. To me personally a very very bizarre signing.

What is our system? We look a right mess to me and have done for 12 months. I'm now regularly walking away from games with no clue about what we are trying to do!? There is no real pattern to our play is there?

He looked fit enough today just useless He's nowhere near match fit, and had no opportunity to do anything in the Spurs half of the field. What did you expect him to do? Suddenly make the midfield effective purely through his own presence?

You can't play a small guy up front without any support, it does not work!. All the teams that play with one up top play with a strong CF, Berahino is not that player in my opinion.
