We have clearly had far worse sides but there has been something very demoralising about the past 18 months. Perhaps it's the the hope that kills you, but all I know is I leave the vast majority of games feeling a bit disappointed and not very enthused about the next fixture. Each to their own, I still enjoy the drive/train ride from Manchester to Stoke in anticipation, the only time I haven't had that feeling at this stadium was the last half of the Brian Little season and the last season under Pulis..... Blimey if you can still enjoy the trek down the M6 I am truly impressed - I've usually lost the will to live by the time I get to the Sanbach turn off. Seriously though I don't understand where you extract the entertainment out of some of the stuff we produce at home - I really wish I did.

No idea why people want berahino , Bony or Diouf for me Tbf mate berahino can't do any worse than what we have got, we haven't seen enough of him is my only positive. However Bony is fucking dog shit, and diouf for a striker does not know where the net is. West ham away double miss will haunt me for a long time.

Must admit, I'm feeling the same fenton. Getting hammered by these teams is very demoralising. Something I don't like seeing as often as we are this season. Got Citeh, Chelski and Liverpool coming up as well. Not looking forward to it! I can't remember the last time me and my son didn't have a season ticket / card but...we won't be bothering for the 2017/18 season. I'd imagine that the last couple of seasons have been bad enough for Stoke based Stokies, but when you've got 380 miles and 6-7 hours drive just to get to the Brit / 365, well 😟 Respect to you, my friend. My buddy and I come from East Yorkshire - that's 150 miles each way and 2.5 hours driving, but that's nowt compared to your commitment especially for the night games. As I say, respect to you.

Cheers. We'll be there for the Boro' game of course. Head says no, heart says go. So yet again we'll be hoping for the 'bounce' and I suspect we'll get it. Play crap. Leslie demands a reaction. We get a 1-0. Sure it's 3 points and a clean sheet so how can we complain but then the next game arrives and we ALL know what's gonna happen!

There are very few from todays game that deserve to keep the shirt so a few changes are needed, as I've said before, I'd go a traditional 4-4-2 as well.
Grant
Johnson (if fit) Bruno Muniesa Pieters (only because there is no fucker else)
Arnie Cameron Afellay Imbula
Diouf Berahino
Two out and out wide players hasn't worked all season so sack it. With Berahino, Diouf and Arnie there's enough pace to play the channels any way. Whelan, Allen, Adam, Shawcross and Crouch were so fucking awful today they should be dropped, Sobhi and Bards weren't fucking awful but other players deserve the chance following that spineless debacle today.

I would be tempted to play Muni in the Whelan role and pick up the pieces in front of the back 4 and look to play it out and have GCam in alongside him to do all the running and the physical work. It would be a bit of a gamble but we don't have a lot to play for, so why not experiment a bit instead of playing Whelan and plodder Adam.

If Shaq is fit to play why not try Arnie or Sobhi up front or even give them license to rotate. Then play it into their feet they both hold it up well and can turn playing the wingers in behind. Get in behind and we will beat them, they're solid in defense so won't be easy we need fast passing and movement to break them down.
Grant Johnson (if fit) Shawcross Indi Pieters Cameron Allen Affelay Shaq Sobhi Arnie

Some very interesting and decent team selections offered. Unfortunately, Hughes will undoubtedly start with Crouch and Whelan again, rendering most of them redundant.

It has the makings of a classic doesn't it? We're playing toss, Middlesborough are the most negative side in the league. The elusive cure for insomnia maybe found on Saturday.

Got Citeh, Chelski and Liverpool coming up as well. Not looking forward to it! I'm the same you turn up and the team sheet just looks the same there's no goals in the side and you can't see where any will come from in a regular basis. I'm not buying Berahino is the answer either because I can't see how he's going to get any kind of service. He like to run onto threaded balls into the box or a ball whipped in low across it it takes us 35 mins to actually get near the oppositions box in most matches and result in a shot! I think he will end up as frustrated a figure as Bony was heading balls down and no one near to pick them up Crouch the same.

I'd even be tempted to drop Shawcross for a pairing of BMI and Cameron for this match to shake up Shawcross I recall when he was out injured Cameron and BMI did quite well as a pair. They should be able to handle Boro's forward line and it just might buck up Shawcross mentally, personally I think he's only looked decent recently as BMI had been dictating the back line and sweeping up for him. BMI had his own hands full yesterday which meant shawcross had to make his own quick decisive decisions which we all saw were pretty dreadful.
Personally I think he won't be the same player again after his back problem, it's probably a mentality thing as medics have given him the all clear but he doesn't seem to move or jump anywhere near the levels he used to, perhaps a spell in the bench would erase this nervousness in the back of his mind.

Since the turn of the year we've beaten Watford and Palace keeping 2 clean sheets in the process, and conceded 1 against Everton and Man Utd with their attacking prowess. We've lost 1 Premier League home game in 11, why would we panic and drop Shawcross when he's looked solid as a rock at home?

I just think he needs a wake up call after yesterday like I say BMI for me has been the key to those results. Then again I guess we could say that for most of them yesterday. If Geoff and Bruno do strike up a more athletic partnership though it might hide batter for the faster teams we play

Grant
Johnson Shawcross Indi Pieters
Muniesa Allen

Muniesa can drop in when we attack to make 3 CB's (eric dier role) giving johnson and pieters chance to get foward giving arnie and shaq and sobhi all free attacking roles?
