It's sickening to think that they ever charged over £300... At those prices why would anyone starting out even bother choosing to go there when for slightly more you can go up the road and watch the big teams. It just doesn't make sense. Family ties. I'll wager that's how most of us started out. Plus proximity to the ground in their case as the vast majority will probably live within walking distance from the ground.

That's an awful lot of money for L2 football. Worse than that until 'Smurf' leaves totally, the fans don't know what's going to happen next. Irrespective of the club fans support, uncertainty is dreadful! The Gooners have no idea if Arsene is staying or going? It's something I find unnerving, at least we know where we are for the foreseeable future. Thank goodness!

I understand that completely as I am a Stoke fan because my Grand Dad made me so at Birth and may well have become a Vale fan (god had mercy upon me) if not as I have lived within 10 minutes walk of the ground for most of my life and now live within sight of the Vale Park. But if you were of an age that you could choose knowing all the facts then it wouldn't make any sense to buy a Vale season ticket over a Stoke one, they need to be charging a lot less for it to make logical sense based on the value of the product. (Albeit we've been a bit shite this season lol).

The problem for the Vale is that they're broke, so they either overcharge or go under - which I suspect they'll do in the next two or three years anyway.

We've been a Stoke supporting family as far back as my Grand Dad's Uncle's Dad, whatever relation that is. That is now true but there has to be many clubs in the lower 2 leagues who survive while charging significantly less than Premier League clubs, may have to research the average season ticket prices of the bottom 2 pro leagues.

Same here mate. My dad was a supporter from the 1930s. It'd be interesting to see what other teams down there charge. I'm sure the vast majority of them are struggling, though I doubt many of them have been in and out of administration as often as the Vale.

Whereas by comparison paying £49.90 for an adult replica shirt at Barnet is disgusting.

I think Bradford are a bit of a one off with their pricing. Fair play to 'em.

I'm pretty sure Bradford's situation is the anomaly as they get such big crowds it can work that way, even when they're right down there they have been able to draw big numbers.

(Albeit we've been a bit shite this season lol). The problem for lower league and non league teams is making ends meet. They do not get much revenue from other sources. They have to rely on a small fan base to buy tickets and merchandise. Unless they get a good cup run they get very little from TV. Macc Town (non-league) early bird season tickets are £240 standing and £320 seated. Check out Macc Town prices

Must be going for another relegation - they've taken Michael 'contract extension' Tonge on trial. No word yet on moves for Tom Soares or Andrew Davies.
