Question on this £1.5 million purchase figure:
1)Do you also take on the £3.5m owed to Smurf? If so the real figure is £5m. 2)Does it include the asset of the ground and the land it stands on? Smurf split the two didn't he.
If the answer to question 2) is that it doesn't and the answer to question 1) is that you do take on the Smurf debt then you are in effect paying £5m for a loss making machine without the only thing of any enduring value which is the fixed asset of ground and land.
Either way surely it would then need the same again, another £5m minimum, to have any hope of turning the ship around and returning it to some kind of profitability. So no one with less than £10m to spend should really get involved I would suggest.
There is also the emotional side, you would take on a 'sitting tennant' being the Vale fans themselves, and while they may be be few in number they are a pretty punchy lot in general and hopelessly unable to see the funny side of the demise of their football club, I wouldn't want them on my case that's for sure.

They do seem a tad peeved at the moment. UP THE SMURF.

This is just like the old 'Play for Your Club' days. Come on boys and girls, time to do your bit...we're not letting up until Smurf's got a majority, 'the people have spoken' and he rides back into town on a white steed. Smurf IN! Smurf IN! Smurf IN! No-one with an ounce of sense would go near it. Smurf will tighten the purse strings even more (can't say I blame him), sit tight in the mistaken belief that someone will be daft enough to pay for all his fuck ups and Vale will end up in the non-league.

Smurfs at almost 30% from 4% this morning, despite my advancing years and knowing that it's puerile and juvenile, this is great fun. Unless Smurf writes off his director loans and includes the ground in the sale, there is no chance in hell that it will sell.

I see you've been on a diplomatic mission, Special Envoy Werrington. You seem to have somehow tamed one or two of the more reasonable ones with some tact and diplomacy, I conner fault thee.

And I see they're accusing Werrington of either been in rehab or inside. Note, he didn't deny either

A Vale fan who had a lotto win at the weekend has offered to buy the club. Imagine what he could have done if he'd got four numbers up... I laughed way too much at this!

Top tip: the poll page is very low tech indeed. If you just disable cookies in your browser, then sit there on the page, you can vote, refresh page, vote refresh page vote refresh page and so on very quickly.
Downside... Switching off cookies will log you out of the oatcake - and pretty much every other website. Reenabled browser cookies and log back in and you're all good.
5 minutes of 50 votes each should crack it I reckon.
