For those who have left the UK, what are the little things you miss (apart from Stoke City and Shefali)? In my case:
J cloths Bacon Drivers who thank you for letting them in etc

Daft as it seems when I lived in Shanghai for 2 years one of the things I missed was a good Chinese take away, they just don't make it like us... Living in Thailand now I agree about the drivers never thanking you, and it took a while to get used to, when pulling onto a main road, when they flash you it is to say "Oi...I'm here, now fucking wait"...Few close shaves when I thought it meant "there you go sir...Please pull out" I slightly miss the cold to be honest, Winter was always my fave season. I certainly don't miss political correctness...It's fucking great here, you can say what you like without fear of being labeled whatever the current trendy " Ist " is...

Rolling hills. The lush green and pleasant land. Quaint little villages on the edges of moors, dales, and forests. Church spires. Country pubs. Fish and chips. History.
Home. In a sense, it's the Welsh word "hiraeth" which has no direct English translation. Hard to explain.

Does Wales count. When I worked there (right on the coast) with no car my dad would post me half a dozen oatcakes once a month. The Welsh have got a lot to learn.

A mate who lives in Sweden always hankers after fish and chips.
And good real ale-that doesn't cost the earth.

I wish some of it would go towards filling potholes and building a decent rail network here, I can't possibly think what else Merkel might be spending it on.

Left 30 years ago, we are thinking about buying a small place in England just for the summer when we retire. At 1.22 USD to GBP my retirement "pot" is looking pretty good these days in the UK!

Are there any Oatcakers in Greece ?
I spend quite a bit of time drifting around the islands.
With Kodi, Mobdro and even Greek TV at times Stoke games early and late season are not a problem.
What I miss (returning to the point) is that it is impossible to buy COFFE MATE or an equivalent in this country. !!! ⚓️

Try living withite a J cloth for 3 months, then you'll see what I mean. Brilliant for doing the bits you missed when cleaning the car. They never stink. Dry fast. You can even get them in red and white. As for Shefali, it might just be the effect of widescreen tv. Get one of them Samsung curved ones and she'll look like Linda Lusardi.

Tastes like it would kill rats stone dead. Disgusting stuff. Explosive in a confined space, too. Cancerous. Explosive. Foul tasting. Yuck. Boom boom.

I had a picture of Arthur Scargill in my bunk, when I'm away from home. I copied Oz from Auf Wiedersehen Pet for a laugh (who did the same) but it's a reminder of home in a daft way

For those who have left the UK, what are the little things you miss (apart from Stoke City and Shefali)? In my case: J cloths Bacon Drivers who thank you for letting them in etc J Cloths - There's an offer on at Aldi Sud next Monday. 2 rolls of 50 cloths of Wischtücher for 2,99€. Maybe not quite as good but should do the job! I get my local butcher to slice me my bacon. It takes a bit of time to find one that knows how to cut it - they normally do about 0.5mm thick slices - but once you train him, you can keep going back. How do you get on for tea-bags - I end up stocking-up when back in Blighty!

The Real supermarket chain sell English bacon but it didn't look great the other day, so you're doing the right thing with the butcher. Same here for the tea bags, I bring them from home. If I find a store I'll let you know.
