Ok I actually already did several apology posts to LMH a few weeks back, but it's been suggested I should have a separate thread like I did for Walters and that's fair comment.
After the Palace debacle, I was one of those who believed Hughes was not going to be able to turn that awful start around, and that we should have considered his position at that point.
To my surprise and delight, he had sorted it by the very next game.
What went on we will never know, but I'm happy to apologise for being a bit of a dick about it. I have always been a big Hughes fan back to his time as a player so I am delighted about this.
As mentioned, my apology was actually posted some weeks back, but here it is in its own thread. I would encourage others who felt the same to join me.

And good luck to him :-)

A real man can apologize for their mistakes, but you shouldn't feel bad for having a view...We all as individuals feel things differently, I for one never blamed the manager Butland got injured and we had no real cover, he addressed the issue with signing Grant, who at the time I thought he was never going be good enough....But now its nice knowing Butland is going have be at his best to get into first again Grant has been a sensational.

Very big of you mate but don't beat yourself up about it - your views at the time were entirely understandable and I really don't think Hughes was far from being fired. The form from January to September was absolutely awful and totally unacceptable. Max respect to Hughes for getting us back on track but we do need to sort our early season form at the very least

What a load of mealy mouthed shite. Scrotnig set his stall out. 'If we don't beat Arsenal we're doomed' etc Bollox mate. Arsenal? I'd love to beat Arsenal. I'd not stop laughing for a whole month if we did that. It's not that likely but that said the team is playing very well at the moment, anything could happen. I won't lose any sleep if we lose though, as we have now got some points on the board as a cushion.

And the Leicester and Southampton home games certainly don't seem as daunting as they looked when the fixtures were produced.

Hated Hughes as a player, but happy with him as our manager. Well done for admitting to being 'a bit of a dick'. You weren't the only one! Just as well you doom-mongers of a few weeks ago didn't cause the owners to press the panic button.

Coates come out and said: 'Settle down, folks' when he had one point in five games. With the benefit of hindsight, they are indeed wise words.

Never in doubt once they'd shown what they had and hadn't got in the first ten. Bruno.. brill. And it may be wrong to just single him out but he's both a footballer and organisational genius. Imbula is the dogs too. Little Joe could have had a brace too. Upwards etc.

Good idea but I'm being terribly sensible and having the Roger in haves. Like a chaser. No doubt I'll take your suggestion on board as a 'great' plan later mate. Basking in the glory of todays job.

I don't want to piss on anybody's chips here but there is something worth considering.
It's okay to say that "it takes a man to admit he was wrong" but it's also true to say that it takes more of a man to stay strong in times of crisis and to show faith in a manager who has been both brilliant for our club and who has shown that he deserves that faith.
It's very easy to predict doom and then say you were wrong later.
Sorry, but that's the way I feel about it.
