Burnley (H) Arsenal (A) Southampton (H) Leicester (H) Liverpool (A) Chelsea (A)
I know it's best to look at every game as it comes one at a time but this is a very difficult run. The home games are all must win if you ask me & any point from the 3 big away games is a positive result. Hopefully this time we'll equip ourselves better to face the top teams.

Last season, we had a similar run in December. And then the world sat up and took notice when we 'owned' (copyright Big Geordie) Man City and cruised to victory against their red shirted bastard cousins. I'm not saying we'll do it again, but it does show you just never know what will happen. Perhaps we are due another shock result out of that list.

It's one of those isn't it? You can't see where the points are coming from.... Yet deep down I can't wait to see us give it a go. I'd love to beat the Arse on their own pad. Ryan Shawcross last minute winner

I am going to be positive here, I feel the vibe and think we are going to hit our annual December point frenzy and be talking about our forthcoming European domination once again over our Christmas Turkey, before it all goes tits up again around Feb.
I think we will win all our home games and maybe, just maybe, nick a point at one of the 3 tough away games, fancy it at Liverpool to be honest.
So it's a 10 from me!

The away games are stinkers, but I'd be disappointed if we lost any of those 3 at home. 7 points is a realistic target.

Burnleys the big one where we must win. The other home game a win and draw would be decent. More than anything we need to be over 20 come halfway

Traditionally we do well over the Xmas period at Christmas
You'd imagine 7 points in those 3 home games is very much achievable
And a sneaky win at one of the big 3 I think.
It's about time we did Arsenal at their place

Ryan Shawcross last minute winner I'd prefer to be 3 up after 70 minutes and look at a quickly emptying stadium, and by 75 minutes just a sea of red seats to be seen on the TV If Carlsberg did away matches .......

The cognoscenti on here had us down for a dicking at Watford yesterday which goes to show your opening sentence is bang on. There are a lot of factors which impact on individual games as well as groups of games so it's best not to look too far ahead. One game at a time as the cliche goes.

My dream is that arse batter us for 93 minutes with Shawxy and the rest of the defence holding strong. Then in the last minute of injury time Arnie goes on a mazey run and takes a blatant dive in their peno box. Shaq takes the peno, it hits the bar, drops and goes in off the keepers head. Wenger goes apoplectic, attacks Arnie as he leaves the field and is arrested by the police.

Really we should have nothing to fear from the teams we play at home and we'll sneak a point somewhere away. So it's 10 points for me.

We need to average more than 1 point a game. So target should be 7+
Burnley 3 Arsenal 0 Southampton 1 Leicester 3 Liverpool 1 Chelsea 0
would give us 8 points. Basically 2 wins from those 6 games. 3 wins and we would be VERY happy

Not looking good from my point of view. It would be just like us to trip up against Burnley like we did Bournemouth. Southampton looked very good against Everton yesterday. Leicester always seem to get the better of us these days and the other 3 we invariably lose.
Funnily enough I fancy us against Arsenal this season, they are not a convincing team to me.
Right now I'd take 5 points if they were on offer and move on, anything more is a bonus in my book. 9 points would be brilliant. Some of the posts above make me wonder if we support the same Stoke as expectations seem very high.

We've got to start to get a grip of these home games against 'lesser' opposition. Burnley is the must win from that group with all due respect to them. Southampton despite the summer changes are a top 8 side by the looks of it, Leicester no doubt will find there footing as we come into that fixture, so that won't be easy.
Not saying we can't get points from the 3 away games - But Liverpool & Chelsea are some distance ahead of where they were last season, and I can never see us getting anything at Arsenal, crap place go for us.
So, I expect 4 - 6 points
7+ would be a bonus
