How close are Whlean and Cameron to being fit so we can cobble up the midfield?
And if neither are who plays instead of Allen?
I don't think playing Muni can be much worse than that yesterday. But there's just no obvious answer.

If Geoff and Whelan are still out and Allen suspended what do we do? I hate to say it but I'd go with
...........Muni.........Imbula.........
Arni.............Shaq...........Sobhi
We need to put Muni in for Me because he has some defensive skills. I'd even consider Johnson in there if Bards is fit. One things for sure mobility is vital. Charlie can't play in a 2.
Anyone know if Whelan or Geoff might be back next week. I think well have Similar questions asked v Watford as v BMouth. Lessons need to be learnt

Imbula is a better footballer with one leg than him! He will never make it

I think one of the biggest problems is that due to not increasing the squad size we have no more options than last season. Even if they didn't particularly impress in Wolly, joselu and Wilson we had players who could fit in and do a job in there right position now we have none
CB - Ryan / Indi (in) - no other options other than Muni. Wilson (out), Wolly (out). No one coming through.
DM - Only Whelan and Geoff for 2 places - No one else fitting the role. Imbula no defensive responsibilty. Sidwell gone, Muni? No one coming through. Afellay could be a big option but it will take time.
CF - Bony (loan), Crouch, Walters. Joselu (gone), no plan B as Diouf frozen out and it appears that NGoy isn't ttusted. Bony off to ACON.
Without doubt we need a DM, STR and CB in Jan because if we get 1-2 injuries to key players were knackered.

But there's just no obvious answer. If Whelan & Cameron are unfit with Allen suspended then I can only see us getting a real hammering. Watford are a good side and our defence will not cope.Muniesa has to play alongside either Adam or Imbula, what a frightening thought that is!! Bojan will have to drop out and he will play Walters for his defensive contribution.Anything less than a 3 goal defeat will be bonus.

Personally I'd work with Muni all week and hope that he can learn Glenn's role, play Shaqiri in the hole with Sobhi and Arnie on the flanks. That still leaves the major headache of who partners Muni in a '2', which would have to be Charlie or Imbula, I don't like either option to be honest and would probably toss a coin. The squad is horribly unbalanced.

Diouf (for his work rate)

Yes I know Walters doesn't offer us much but he is useful in a defensive role ie tracking back. He will probably play Adam,Muniesa & Imbula instead, lets just hope Whelan & Cameron are both fit or we can just right this game off.I've got a ticket to go but seriously thinking about not bothering and just watching the nightmare unfold on Sky.

If Whelan was touch and go for Saturday you'd expect he'd be fit for next weekend. The problem then is who do you play alongside him? I'd give Imbula a go so that we could see once and for all if he gives a shit and can hack it in that role. At least then we'll know to get rid or keep asap.

Hopefully Whelan will be fit, the team desperately needs a calming presence in the middle.
If, huge word I know, Affelay was fit I think he would be first choice in the role in front of the CBs.

Watford are looking pretty damn good this season. If Geoff and Glenn are back, a draw or win. If not, no idea!
If both are fit:
Grant Johnson Shawcross Indi Pieters Whelan Cameron Shaq Bojan Arnie Bony
If either:
Grant Johnson Shawcross Indi Pieters Whelan/Cameron Imbula Arnie Shaqiri Ramadan Bony
If neither:
Grant Johnson Shawcross Indi Pieters Imbula Adam (god help us!) Arnie Shaqiri Ramadan Bony

Grant
Johnson Shawcross Indi Pieters
Whelan Cameron
Shaq Bojan Arnie
Bony
I expect, but if Cameron is still not fit then I think MH will stick with Charlie. I don't think he will ditch him and Bojan so quickly.
If anyone is going to be dropped I suspect MH might give Bony a wake-up call and pick Crouch but I doubt it. IMO Diouf is the most appropriate to hit them on the break, but he seems to be totally out of favour.
We will be happy with a point at Watford, but there is not a lot to fear. They have had only 1 good victory beating ManU last September and have concede a goal more than us. They have got their points by beating bottom half clubs and drawing with mid-table clubs.
