Joe Allen played in a deeper role for Wales at the weekend in a 442 alongside Joe Ledley {BBC MoM}. I reckon him and Adam could share the duties, both intelligent players and Adam seems to have found some 'wind'. Adam is pretty quick in bursts, over the short distance and also seems to have calmed the rash tackles. Be interesting to see how we set up without Glenn. Republic of Ireland set up with 4132 with Glenn sitting. Not sure we could pull that off without Whelan. I like the idea of a front two. Bojan +1. Either SJW or Diouf. Grant Johnson Shawcross Bruno Pieters Shaqiri Allen Adam Arnautovic SJW Bojan

Grant Johnson Shawcross Bruno Pieters Shaqiri Allen Adam Arnautovic SJW Bojan I agree - Joe Allen has spent most of his career in a deeper role than the one in which we currently use him. Bojan scored when he came on against West Ham (which will have done wonders for his confidence) so playing Allen and Adam in central midfield with Bojan in the no. 10 role would seem to be the most logical and least disruptive option.

Again, another injury due to pointless international games. Do what they used to do, Wednesday nights, no disruption. HATE these breaks

Hopefully Wilshere's knee falls off.

Has to be Crouch. If Ramadan is fit he has to play, otherwise SJW on the flank. You voting for the tall mouse alzheimer's really has ravaged your memory.

Hope Bony is fit enough to play but if he isn't for me it has to be Diouf. In front of Shaq, Bojan and Arnie.
Think they'd be a handful for the Cherries.

Allen did play deeper for Wales and had, IMHO, a poor game.

Has possibilities but I worry that Bojan will get pushed and bullied. I'd move Shaq into the number 10 spot and have Sobhi on the right. Bojan to come on for Shaq when he starts limping in the second half

I'd play Diouf if Wilf is out, but I can see Hughes playing Walters......
Agree on central midfield three of Allen, Adam and Bojan, if both Geoff and Glenn are missing. If one makes it, push Joe further up and Bojan drops to the bench.

But hypothetically if both Cameron and Whelan are out then it wouldn't be unrealistic, for the sake of the team to have Allen in a more disciplined role. He has been a revelation further forward/'freer', and ideally should stay there, but he has spent almost his entire career more defensively, and played in that role as recently as the weekend. I didn't watch it, listened on the radio. Could have been loads of factors he didn't have a brill game, not just the duties given to him.

20 Posters = 20 different opinions. No doubt some will be calling for Hughes head if he does not comply with their preferred lineup! For me, I'd go with Grant Bardo or Johnson, Shawcross, Indi, Pieters Adam, Allen, Imbula Shaqiri or Arnie, Bojan, Arnie or Ramadan But ........ would still love to see Crouch break into the 100 Goals club!

And possibly even Bony won't play . Regardless the loss of the first two will expose us to a who attacks best game which we will lose , those rejoicing in our recovery will get a very stark reminder we are still in great peril. This type of ill luck at just the wrong time is why you can't afford the start we had , typically they will all be fit for Arsenal Liverpool and Chelsea away but of course will make no difference in those circumstances. , Fully expect us to be back in the dog fight in two games time but hope above anything else it's not the case .

Bojan to come on for Shaq when he starts limping in the second half I reckon these are one of the least likely teams to be able to do that. The lad is plenty good enough and as long as he plays in the hole he'll be able to find space and slip balls into the wide players and Diouf.

Can't see much of a future at the club for Imbula if he can't start if Whelan & Cameron aren't fit. When would he. If all our midfield weren't available?

I don't know why but I haven't got a good feeling about this one.
I'd be far happier if they were coming here after beating Sunderland.
I think they could cause us a pile of problems with their movement.
But I'm generally wrong so hopefully it's all good.

Yes but I see that uncertainty as a bonus. None of us have quite got into Hughes & co's thinking just yet. They're keeping us and the opposition guessing. Folk are interpreting it as 'losing the plot', 'muddled thinking' and whatnot. Not a jot of that. Thinking about it a bit more if Bournemouth are going to rely on a tricky and energetic midfield {I understand Ibe is out of sorts}, I'd swamp the midfield with the 352, and smash 'em. Grant Shawcross Bruno Pieters Johnson Allen Imbula Adam Arnautovic Walters Bojan Shaq on for impact.
