Ukcstokie has asked me to let you know that back in June he suffered quite a severe stroke, which left him hospitalised for 3 months. At one point it was touch and go, but he is now making steady progress, albeit slow, small steps to recovery. Clearly this explains his sudden absence from the board , and he has been missed by many of us. As soon as he is ready he will update us on his progress. As a measure of his character I cannot put it any better than this comment from his wife ........
"He wants other people and their loved ones to perhaps understand what has happened in this instance to him, but also because aphasia creates such a barrier to communication that it is too difficult for many sufferers to chart their experiences. This is all probably too complex to explain in a simple post, but maybe you could convey the gist? The oatcake was such a big part of his life and he misses the banter and spectrum of people and their abiding humanity."
I am sure that we all wish him well and look forward to him reconnecting in the very near future.
(UK...hurry up and get on with it!) .............. ......... ........... ..... .. ...... Admin: I have posted this on the " Everything Else" board, how do we make sure that those on the main board are aware?

Great poster, I wish him all the luck in the world with his recovery. Just checked out his last post dated June 15th, well he was right about our tough start to the season! From ukcstokie on June 15th: That looks a bloody difficult start: Boro away - they'll be flying and have the crowd really up for it. Very difficult. Man City home - their first away game under Pep. Could be very tough. Everton away - Koeman will undoubtedly make them much tougher to beat. Spurs home - if Spurs continue their form from the second half of last season this will be one of the tougher home games. Palace away - do we ever get anything there? WBA home - should win assuming the officials don't give them a helping hand. Man U away - Nil points as the Norwegian jury would say.
