Sky have just said that Oliver admitted he got Arnies booking wrong So why the fuck can't the card be rescinded? The FA is completely bent, as is Michael 'rent boy' Oliver. Even with a slightly skewed view my initial reaction was that it was a great tackle that he got to the ball to first.

I am seriously concrarned about the standard of Linemen/assistant Referees that seems to be getting progressively worse in recent times.
The official in the first half on the Boothen right wing failed to flag ,and so I assume recognise, at least three blatant offsides. These were not marginal or debateable decisions but clear 2 or more yards. Interestingly they were all right under his nose, whilst he was level with the last defender. I wonder if play had been on the other wing he may have made a better decision.
As for throw ins it became a joke. He consistently stood and waited to see which way Mr Oliver told him to flag. It may be that the Refs pre match instructions are not to indicate a direction but to follow him in a vain attempt to show unity. If so it is not working.
At this level linemen should be highly competent and form an important part of a three man team to control the game and not just there to make the want to be superstar in the middle look good.

I didn't think it was that bad, sure they made some errors, some against us, some for us. Didn't effect the result. True it didn't affect last night's result - but it will have a bearing on our ability to get a result this coming Saturday.

But you can't blame Oliver for his other 4 yellows, it was unwarranted but Arnie as been booked twice that I know for silly back chatting. And why will it have a bearing our ability in next game? Care to let me have your mystic opinion on lottery numbers this week? I'm pretty sure that the management have plans in place for both Arnie and Ryan to minimise their absence, and have for some time. If they haven't they need shooting

I noticed this last week at Hull as well. A linesman on "our side" of the pitch there looked at the ref before indicating which way to flag. It's as though they discuss over the radio which was they think it should go and then when they have agreed indicate. Arni's tackle was text book to me and not a foul. Conversely, I think the Pieters incident was a penalty last night and I would have been very upset if the situation had been at the other end and went against us. After some rotten luck in the first few games of the season, we seem to be getting most decisions going our way since the ManU match, when we were lucky they were so awful at shooting. (I'm not saying we have been lucky to win recent matches; we have comfortably deserved the wins.)

Ray - I sometimes run the line for my lads team (and get a fookin unbelievable amount of abuse for the privilege ). I've been hung out to dry a few times by referees, so took the trouble to find out what should happen if the linesman sees that the ball has gone out of play but isn't sure who touched it last (can happen quite often in the game where the ref has a better view of the last contact but he can't tell from his angle, if the ball's gone out). Under these circumstances the linesman should raise his flag to indicate that the ball has gone out, and then wait for the ref to indicate which way the throw is awarded, before the linesman then follows suit. I hope this clears up the throw-in issue for you. I've no idea why the blind bastard didn't give the off-sides though!

Nobody is denying that Arnie is to blame for a couple (I think it's 3 actually) of his bookings but last night's was a mistake which the ref himself has admitted to. And are you seriously trying to tell me that we have squad depth sufficient to cover for the likes of Arnie and Ryan? Especially as we could be looking at yet another 3 or 4 week layoff for Shaqiri. If you bother to reply see if you can do it politely, like mature people do. It doesn't hurt. If only....

Oliver does not need to read porn mags, he wanks off whilst looking at his own image in the mirror.
