tell you what...given the fact that we gave him his applause last time which he then completely threw back in our faces (proving he doesn't give a shit about SCFC regardless of what you think. we're just any other club to him nowadays), why don't we leave the applause for his great achievement (which i'm not denying it is) for HIS fans at HIS club where he's marking that achievement????
that would be my take on it regardless of how decent we were at the moment. given our current state, in my opinion any Stoke fan who does anything other than concentrate on and give full attention to OUR team 100% for the full amount of time when they run onto that pitch needs a fucking massive head wobble!!!!
how many fucking times do we have to give him a "reception"? he's a manager who spent over 100mill on players and kept us up (which is precisely what he was paid a salary and a bonus for. don't kid yourself he did it out of the good of his heart or because he loves us more than any other club he's managed. we're no more special to him than any of the other cubs he was ok for then antagonised and pissed off to the point where he walked or got sacked)..well done Tone, cheers for that but he's moved on so why the fuck can't we????
fuck cheering any opposition manager. i care about Stoke and now is the time, more than any other in recent years where we concentrate on OUR team and OUR manager. he doesn't manage us anymore so his "Achievement" has absolutely fuck all to do with us whatsoever
[/quote] This a millions times yes

What a fantastic achievement from TP.
It's a shame I won't be in the mood to applaud him for it - things are too tense at the moment.
When you think of the charity work he does for Donna Louise it deserves some recognition. He has no links with S-o-T other than having worked here and he has continued to promote the charity even after he left. I suppose he will have to accept our pre-occupation tomorrow safe in the knowledge he is guaranteed a knighthood when he retires.

I can understand your view point, but personally, I don't think TP can ever be thanked enough. He loved being Stoke city manager, and gave his all for this club. Irrelevant of who he manages he should always get Stokw fans respect. Whether you keep your opinion to yourself or you feel the need to applaude him, is upto the individual. At the end of the day the overwhelming priority is getting 3 points from this game, but I don't see how having respect for someone that has played a huge role in our clubs history needs to retract away from supporting the team completely? Moreover, I think most if not all Stoke fans have moved on since TP left, given that it was a number of years ago. But again, I don't see why applauding him and showing respect is being stuck in the past or the inability to move on. Very well said my good man. Some of our supporters have forgotten what Tone did for us going by the the posts on this thread. I can honestly see some of them booing him . The man should command the greatest of respect from us I know what he did for stoke ,I also saw the man pissin hI'm self at palace running down the touchine. and I also saw him jumping up and down trying to get a 3rd stoke player yes stoke player sent off ! I think I'll save my support for stoke thanks

So we have people telling us the last 3 years finishing 9th mean nothing and we should forget that, but now we have to remember and applaud a manager that was paid a kings ransom and wasted millions, laughed at us from the touch line, helped to get 2 of our players sent off whilst jumping up and down the touchline like a fucking chimp, showed no respect to us what so ever, and virtually stuck to fingers up to us from the touchline! respect works both ways!! And to those who say he loved being the manager of Stoke City....I bet the 1-2 million a year had something to do with that! If it's ok I will pass, he'll get nothing from me only two fingers, the bloke can kiss my arse!

I'm 40 years old and will always be grateful to TP, by far the best manager of my lifetime who also raised bundles of cash for local charities which I hope continues at 3pm tomorrow.

Why would we applaud the West Brom manager? The opposition manager is our enemy tomorrow.

Class manager, forever grateful for what he has done for the club honestly don't think any other manager on the planet could've dont what he did with the players at his disposal.. Amazing achievement reaching that mark and think we should give him a clap an the respect he undoubtably deserves. Follow this with a huge roar, supporting the boys on a terrifyingly important match that could have big long term effects on the club. I agree that he "deserved" respect for what he did for the club but when that respect was shown, he proceeded to act like a cunt of the highest order. I never liked him as a person, but he earned my respect for what he achieved despite him being a bit of a cunt. Respect is a two way street, and he showed absolutely none for the club, his ex-players or the fans on both occasions last season. For me, the only thing he deserves now is the full treatment, both barrels and no holds barred abuse from start to finish tomorrow. I don't like him, I don't like West Brom and I hope we absolutely dick them tomorrow.

Only goes to show that some things in life are more important than football. Some of the bile directed to Pulis on here is pathetic. Well done TP Although those sentiments will be suspended between 3 and 4.45 tomorrow.

I have a sneaking suspicion that tomorrow will be the last time Hughes or Pulis lead teams at the Brit (Bet365).

Hearing PC on national radio and in that local rag, he is never going to sack Hughes, things would have to be Derby-esqe for that to happen. As for your knighthood comment Marchy lad I spat my beer bloody everywhere!!

Don't understand the drama.
You give him a good round of applause as he comes out to express your gratitude for what he did for our club/city.
You then concentrate on the game and help build an atmosphere by rallying for our manager/players.
I wonder how many people saying they won't clap because he's the enemy, clapped Dele Alli off towards the end of last season?

He acted like a prick last time, but it's his job and I'm confused by what people expected. He owes us nothing and he's now paid to manage a new team.

I agree some of the starry eyed fan boy Spurs loving shit towards Spurs last season was fairly vomit inducing. It was as if we'd played the 70s Dutch side and didn't deserve to be on the smae pitch as them. They didn't in fact win another fucking game after that night. The true story is we were in horrendously poor as we have been for months. I don't agree Pulis should be lauded in any way today though. He's had his ovation, it was lovely and that but he's had it. I don't really think you get two do you?

Deflection - the worse our situation has got under Hughes, the more some hate Pulis.
The only thing that matters today is that we get three points and start climbing out of the mess we're in.

Today is not about who's in the other teams dugout, it's about Stoke City winning a football match and getting our season up and running.
