I am trouble coming up with anyone who's any good that would take on this mess. They must be so demoralized. Charlie Adam as interim player/manager At he knows the modern game and might be able to motivate them. In a modern Prem club he'd be totally out of his depth. No reflection on Charles. Back room staff is all MH's bods. Would be very difficult. Awkward situation. What a shambles.

Wagner, Rowett would both be interesting.
Probably no chance of Bielsa.
Dyche would get them working hard but wouldn't excite me.
Van Bronckhorst is an interesting shout. Would he come and is it too soon for him?

Louis Van Gaal for me. I feel we need the sort of maniac who'd blow up a man's fishpond after a poor performance. Man U treated him really shitty. He has a point to prove. Definitely not finished.

It's certainly difficult to think of anyone available who would keep us at the level we are at now and be able to coach this collection of players.
We had a shocking transfer window with the club reluctant to spend the stupid amounts for mediocre players. It's a difficult environment in which to compete but it looks like £25m is the asking price for players to help you stand still.
Any exciting German or Dutch managers about. Certainly if Hughes goes then the likes of Cartwright has to have the axe over him too

I'd take that all day but could not see him coming to little old stoke. Not sure it's a more unlikely suggestion than the likes of Pellegrini and Mancini. I agree that he probably wouldn't be interested, but it can't hurt to put in a phonecall.

Someone mentioned Ohelan on another thread great coach who organises a team well . Whoever it is has to have a focus on getting the squad fit and organised , that's my greatest irritation with Hughes , his team's are never match fit until October and this year he has been caught out . If Jack had not been so brilliant at the start of last season the same thing could have happened He won't turn this round

Villas Boas - successful coach, young, point to prove, won trophies. Chelsea and Spurs didn't give him enough time but with Porto and Zenit he's shown what he can do

Hoddle might be a good shout , he is a good coach and might want to build a club the way Coates wants it to go , but our talent spotters would need to be binned off for sure , he would want to control that

Pellegrini has the personality of a wet fish. We need someone in to galvanise us, get a grip of the so-called professionals not some submissive old fart. Keane until the end of season with a contract on a decent showing. No brainer. However if howe wont come ( and im not sure its the right time for him here atm) There is a name nobody mentions, his name begins with W holy jesus no, please no

We need someone solid who is a good tactician and brings the best out of his players.
Rowett is a good call The Watford manager from last season Diche if he'd come Van Gaal

Now you can see that Hughes is going nowhere. There isn't a name posted above that is worth considering.
I'd rather Hughes try get us back going than that lot above.

Sound familiar Dyche? Maybe.

Mancini is a third rate bluffer who only takes easy jobs. Even then he messes them up. I'd rather keep Hughes than suffer that clown.

Would he come and is it too soon for him? Yeah, Wagner is one that catches the eye, but not much of a sample size. Just looking at Marcelino's record at Villarreal - 6th, 6th and 4th - plus a Europa League semi - is bloody impressive before a bizarre sacking. Not sure about his English skills or whether he's realistic. If Coates senior is still wearing the Daddy pants, have to think Dyche would be his main target. Failing that, Rowett.
