We've looked better than I expected generally. Some v good saves from their keeper. Isted's had a lot less to do. We look decent in midfield, mostly playing through Charlie but plenty of good little moves. Keepers kept them in it tho and now their winning. Haugaard in their net I reckon we'd have at least 3.

Come on you potters. Let's win it 3 times. Love the competition and it can only be good for young players playing proper competition

Charlie's lost his cool now. Diving in, shouting at anyone within range. Good lad (until ge gets sent off)
Christ there's some right tackles flying in now. More free kicks, and we look fragile.

Only one U23 side winning at the minute, Norwich, and they're amongst the best at this level aren't they?

Well 1-0 loss aint too bad and it sounds like we didn't have our shooting boots so could probably have equalised.

Crowds at Fleetwood, Wimbledon, Accrington, the Vale & Bradford proving what a farce this competition is.

Shame, it's proving useful. Opening eyes to our academy talent. Yep they look pretty talented [rolls eyes] First competitive game, closest to league football, for most of them. Their own fans begging them to fail. To have 10+ attempts on goal and narrowly lose 1-0 isn't bad at all.

An enjoyable night out. It was the first time I have seen several of the players.
First half conceded a poor goal but after a slow start we were much the better team and Doyle made several decent saves to prevent us being level or in front.
Second half we just shaded but no real chances and Edwards sent off for two bookings both were bookings.
NGoy had a good 30 mins and powerful but looked frustrated at times in the second half but still tried to create things in the box, sadly after a great move he could not finish and get the equaliser we at least deserved.
Eddie L was good but needs to stay on his feet when tackling. My mOTM was Thibauld V for a 17 yo he battled had pace and the same tricks and could be pushing for a first team bench slot by the end of the season.. Others played ok but on tonight's performance have work to do before first team squad appearances.
Charlie helped the youngsters until a few sloppy passes and the dew on the grass took its toll on him.

All I can say is that it's a pity that we didn't get tonked by seven or eight goals. Hopefully, we'll lose by double figures in the next game.
Everyone at the club involved in this should hang their head in shame.

I'd like to know what evidence people are making their assumptions that we will get thrashed. Stoke will be fielding an under 23 team. These players are young men who are aspiring towards playing in the Premier League. Many of our fans are believing that individuals in our squad are close to pushing into the first team squad. Personally I will be expecting the team to push Bradford all the way and hopefully we can get a result! Only because I saw them against West Ham U23's a couple of weeks ago they were taught a lesson. Ngoy had a decent half hour and Sweeney looked useful but that was about it. I thought no first teamer's were allowed and Bradford are 2nd in League One. Waring and Moha are on loan at another League One club (Shrewsbury) and they've both had a few sub appearances or been subbed off. Not being overly negative just realistic imo.
