Why on earth do West Ham need Bony?
Zaza, Calleri, Valencia, Sakho, Carroll...

Don't want to sound greedy but Bony and Saido would be excellent with Joselu out, Diouf potentially out and Crouch / Walters on a decline.
If I had to choose one then I'd go for Bony. If he plays anywhere near to how Lukaku does then it'll really help our attacking midfielders. A powerhouse who can hold the ball and allow our midfielders to overlap would be ideal.

Not sure about bony, he's looked like a lumbering oaf in his time at man city. Looked lazy when he's had his chance but, you never know what was happening behind the scenes. Bit like Berahino

120k a week wages of Bony to be paid in full? Damn........ I doubt that the club will agree to that. Ridiculous money

Maybe we could offer a slightly bigger loan fee but pay less in wages?

Maybe we could offer a slightly bigger loan fee but pay less in wages? Man City will says 'x' weeks @ £120k = £...... - pay this as you wish, extra up front and less at wages time but the total remains the same?

We did this with Crouch - a bigger signing on fee so his basic wage was lower, so as not to trigger increase in others' wages to the same higher level.

This story in the Mail doesn't mention China in January. Who knows what to believe? MailCity will continue to trim their squad over the next 24 hours as Stoke City and West Ham discuss a potential loan for Wilfried Bony while Sevilla have expressed late interest in taking Samir Nasri on loan. The France international had been poised to travel to Besiktas. Bony will cost a £2m loan fee but City want his £120,000 a week wages paid in full. Ouchers.

West Ham can afford to be reckless but surely there scattergun approach cant be good for building up moral. It's almost like they'll get an injury to say Carol, Cresswell or Ayew and rather than wait for them to come back they'll just get another play in on 100k a week.
But for the OS stadium gift they'd be heading for bankruptcy. They did this before and ended up having to sell the club.
Yes they've got some very good players but this 12-15 new players a season policy cant work. Wouldn't they be better off going for quality rather than quantity. Where will they fit in Carroll, Zaza, Bony and Ayew. Not forgetting the young lad from Agentina we were interested in.
The Bony deal looks to me like theyre signing him so none of there competitors can.

Would also prefer Bony. What's with paying such an extraordinary sum for a fella who has scored one goal in 28 matches?!
And when are we going to bid farewell to the four or five players no longer quite up to PL standards? We don't have to threaten them with exclusion from first team training, like other managers are now doing, as that isn't our way. But being too sympathetic is a weakness, too, and we should just take a not too high financial loss, or loan them out. If not replaced, they will be used and we'll never get team stability.
