Imbula's possibly better now and certainly has the potential to be better in the future. Miss Fonzy though, an excellent player Imbula isnt even close to Nzonzi. Slower on the ball, one footed and lazy to defend. And apart from anything else he wears gloves in August FFS. I'd swap the two in a heartbeat, drive Imbula to Seville and give Fonz a lift back.

Too late seen it . As you know this for me was the ultimate example of how weak and short sighted and small time our commercial thinking has been . The only consolation would be if the plonker that allowed his contract to run to 1 year , then accepted £7m like it was a kings ransom mid window was made to walk the plank in the ensuing inquest . We spent £18m replacing him sending results backwards and undersold by 18m too early and people think peace is a wanker. While the ultimate maturbator is much Closer to Home presiding over a another myopic window , a catastrophic PR policy , a abortion of a online platform , a pigs ear of corporate missed opportunity ( Did anyone notice empty boxes on Saturday ) and a traffic system and customer experience that can be bettered at the dentist What the fuck is an ultimate maturbator??
I was wondering myself ...

Having seen them both personally I don't think imbues will ever be the player Nzonzi was for us . The benchmark will be what is their end transfer fee Nzonzi looks like 25m imbula for me could only be sold at a loss so would need material improvement from here .

Here we go... An excuse to stick the boot into a player who actually wants to play for us while licking the arse of someone who couldn't wait to get out of the place.
I liked Nzonzi, but the bloke didn't want to play for us. End of.
Imbula's cost a lot of money and the jury's very much out on him, but he's 22 and we have him under contract for another 4 and a half years.
He's already scored 2 goals in 16 games. Nzonzi scored 6 in 109 (two of which came in his final three games for us).

Actually he does not look as if he wants to play for us, infact he looks as if he would rather be anywhere else but here, still as you say we have him for another 4 and a half years, maybe his attitude/input will improve enough to justify his record fee.

Imbula is no where near as consistent and reliable as N'Zonzi. You could set your clock by his annual demand to leave.
Imbula wasted his summer by getting married and settling down in his new home.

NZonzi was great in the last couple of seasons. I can also remember how much he got slated on here when he first signed. Frequently serving up a cheesy slice of Gallic mard tart, it took a good while for the people of the Potteries to warm to him. I anticipate the same turn around in public opinion on Imbula. He will be immense and will have the Lord mayor presenting him the keys to Hanley by Christmas.

Can I ask why you follow Stoke? Do you enjoy it?

Imbula also hasn't run anybody over or been arrested on suspicion of domestic abuse.
Big boots to fill.

Nah, he's already played sixteen games for us and he's only made Nemanja Matic look like Henrik Risom in one of them. He's obviously just another Seyi Olofinjana.

That's it then he's a better footballer than Zonz I think Imbula will come good, he needs an electric shock device fitting though so the manager can shock him every time he doesn't track back and hassle for the ball back.

Actually, isn't their CEO (monchi is it?) Well known for buying players on the cheap and selling them for a major profit? Surely would be the same here? He certainly got him on the cheap. He got him for what he was worth at the time.

If Nzonzi is available we should try to get him Allen and Imbula and Nzonzi midfield three That midfield would be worth almost 60 million quid and if we played it we'd still be crying out for Glenn Whelan
