Adam. As good as imbula is, blows hot/cold, defensively not good enough, doesn't work hard enough and pissed about taking players on at the back. You know what you get with Charlie - could have done with him today.

I'd prefer a 3 of Adam, Imbula and Allen

Adam every day of the week if I had to choose.
However, I would prefer Whelan and Allen in midfield with Bojan ahead of them.
I would lose no sleep if Imbula left before the transfer window closes.

Neither, Whelan Allen and Bojan.

Imbula no contest.
He does need work but is still a 23 year old lad. He does remind me of the lad at school who tries to win the game on his own. Knowing when to pass and a bit more of an effort defensively and we have some player on our hands.

Adam = 2 feet Imbulas 1 foot would not cut it in Welsh Cynru Alliance

Adam is the more complete and rounded midfield player, the one who has really mastered the craft.
The case against him rests on whether you somehow think Imbula represents the future as the younger man. Oh and of course Charlie's inability to pass a strewn opponent without treading on him.

Imbula, Adam has finished growing and we know what he can/can't do, Imbula isn't perfect but we don't know how far he can go yet

Knowing when to pass and a bit more of an effort defensively and we have some player on our hands. So we've paid a mere £18.3million for a midfield player who needs to learn when to pass the ball and make more of an effort defensively. Sounds promising! Oh and has only got a left foot as well!

You would think for 20 million Euros you'd get a bloke who can kick at least occasionally with both feet wouldn't you

No I mean gives his all, gives a toss, puts a tackle in, always looks dangerous in the final 3rd, always gets on the ball and has some defensive discipline. Imbula is becoming a luxury we can't afford at times.

Got to say I am staggered that Imbula is pulling 50% or so of the votes, Adam is in a different league.
I think it is folks wanting to believe despite the evidence in front of their eyes after we lumped 20 million Euros on him.

Said it on other threads, think Adam woulda worked well today alongside Whelan and Allen. He won't need to worry so much about getting around the pitch playing with Allen, just focus on looking for and delivering those killer passes, which I don't believe are part of imbula's game.
Horses for courses though...

Imbula seems to be much more effective in away games , where he can run through teams. Think our major problem at the moment is that the wide players have been entirely ineffective.

I like Charlie but he's shit defensively, can't tackle to save his life, has absolutely no discipline and 'his all' is about 20 minutes.

You could say the same about Shaqiri, Bojan and Arnie who often over do it and subsequently concede possession. Against Boro last week I saw Diouf trying to make several good runs and all three aforementioned players rather than sending a ball in ran with it and then lost the ball. He clearly has confidence in himself and that is certainly not a bad thing. I think he is a very good player already but just with some work he could be even better and at his age he will get better. A young lad is bound to see glory and go for it and he will hopefully mature and learn when is the right occasion.
