We have just lost to one of the best sides in the world who have spent hundreds of millions buying the best players and have just employed the best manager around, and people are suggesting we are relegation certainties. Get a fucking grip and get in the real world, sometimes you play a team that is simply on a different level on the day.

Honestly, thats a good fucking team to lose too albeit didn't think the last two goals added more to what the game really was like. We get that Allen peno first half, different match potentially after the half. Onwards!

Thought we were competing ok up to their penalty, then poor for the rest of the first half. Second half I thought we were the better side for most of it and simply got punished pushing too many up for an equaliser. By a very very good side. Some folks need to seriously get a grip. And the one before that And the one before that As usual they will be made to look a bit daft. To put it into context they have spent more on John Stones than Hughes has spent in total since he has been here.

Two people have said they think we're going to be relegated. Two.. does that warrant creating a thread ?

It's the Oatcake, I wouldn't let it bother you.
We do have some issues that Hughes needs to address though. Thing with this place is that it's important to distinguish between criticism and doom-mongering.

We were in the game until they scored their third. First half performance was quite good up until their penalty, second half we were the better team (despite them scoring two)

Not to mention that 4-1 is flattering for them, we were well in it at times
They've got some of the best attacking players in the league and are now managed by the best manager in the world, let's not get carried away

Typical slow start to the season under mark hughes. We will be nowhere near relegation.

You win some you lose some , good job there midweek game tired them out , but seriously we could have beat them by six last season at home that's how it goes sometimes

As I said before a ball was kicked the defining game of our season will be WBA at Home which I Said because of our awful window and dreadful form at the end of last test we would go into with whatever we got at Boro .
That's going to be spot on looks like they might come in the top 6 too so it's going to be a huge game write off the next 3 and let's see if Hughes can' beat pulls if not I fear we may be cut adrift and the spiral gathers momentum .

Seems like the Oatcake falls into two very distinct camps
The happy clappers (not my expression btw) and the doom mongerers
I would think most people are realistic, have seen enough bad times to not always expect the best to happen but realise how far the club has come in just a few years and are somewhere in the middle

We cant define a season based on WBA at home??!! We owe them big time!!
Has the window been that awlful?? A promising young winger, an excellent midfielder, we've lost no one we didn't want to AND crucially there are 11 days left.
I'd love to see a centreback, keeper & striker and i'll be amazed if we don't add at least 2 out of 3, hopefully the first two.
If we don't and it all goes tits up, I'll be as pissed off as anyone but ANYTHING can happen in 11 days.

Some just can't handle disappointment and feel the need to lash out
Funny how at the game you see people disappointed but they then get behind a key board and the venom and hatred spills

We lost to a great side? As multiple Premiershit and Champions League winners we should never lose at home or concede any goals........ ooops sorry wrong board!

No, we should be beating teams like this 4 or 5 nil easy mate. Thing is, as daft as it sounds, 2-1 would've be fair. 4-1 annoys me as it makes us look way worse than we are/were.

We get the Joe Allen penalty and the early goal in the second half and it would be interesting to see them under real pressure. I'm not convinced, under pressure, they're all that good. Obviously going forward they're a class above.

Many frustrating things that I had to cope with today but I have returned home in a good frame of mind. Conceding our first goal had me raving but not at the ref. It's been coming hasn't it? Shawcross just can't help himself and as long as refs are consistent on holding and pushing he has got to change. Defending on the second goal appeared weak but the delivery was great and they have a great striker who has a knack of getting goals by getting there first. Many teams would have folded after going 2-0 down so I was pleased with the way Stoke fought showing good character. At two one we played equally as well as Man City. As the game got nearer to its end Stoke had to push more and take more chances. JWT did not strengthen our chances of equalising. The third goal five minutes from time was very deflating. The fourth goal was an injustice and flattered the future Champions. On this performance we have much to look forward to. Allen and Bojan were very good! We will beat lesser teams. Also looking forward to the last week of the transfer window. Keep your heads up all you wrist slashers!😀

I'm glad to say I decided not to bother watching any games until west brom at end of sept. Not even watching online. I knew we would be shit again at the start of the season and I'd get riled up.
That WBA game will be the crucial match we'll need to win to get things going

The two Nolito goals were footnotes essentially. Aguero's header was v. good though, and we should have done better.
