We've lost to a far superior side. Man up and support Hughes.

That side was champion quality for me. I think Utd will lose this effort over the longhaul of the season to Man City so much depth and bought talent.

Brilliant side no doubting that but come on go for it . Just looks like he was sitting on a 2-1 loss.
Defensive problems really concern me

Don't be soft. A defender is all we need /s More questions need to be asked regarding Hughes' managerial decisions.
Nothing has changed from the end of last season.
Worrying times ahead if the window is closed with no new signings.

No complaints over the result however the problems are obvious.
Poor defence.
Poor attack.
Poor set pieces.
Get Jones and Berahino in, sort the coaching out - we'll have a great season.

Is totally inexcusable . Hughes should of made the changes at 2-1 down and gone for it. Looks like we settled for a 2-1 loss. Pathetic Mark . Serious few weeks of transfer window left You clearly haven't been watching football very long. And if you have, you're spineless. Grow a pair, for fucks sake. Sent from my SM-G928F using proboards

We lost 4-1 at home to City the season before last too when Pelligrini was manager. This is a far far superior team & let's be honest, 4-1 is not a fair reflection of the game. We looked very decent for long periods of the game. We got punished because of some individual mistakes & some really high quality. Stoke fans need a reality check. The only reason we won last season against them is because they had a shocker. They're better than us, period.

Worrying times ahead if the window is closed with no new signings. Nothing has changed from last season? That's exactly the problem. We have carried over the dire form we ended last season with, The defending was absolutely abysmal, we are no nearer bringing in another centre-half that we are crying out for and we are still lacking pace and movement going forward. As for todays match, Man City did look like a very good side, but we just made it too easy for them. I am not looking forward to Everton next week, if we play like that again they could give us a pasting...

Conceding three or more at home and not having a chance from open play is getting a little bit tiresome. We worked ourselves senseless and kept ourselves in the game, but never looked like equalising unless Dean decided to have another funny moment.
I don't think that Man City are anything special. They won't win anything this season.

1-4 was well harsh as a scoreline.
A lesson in quick forward passing though as opposed to sidewayss, back then Phil or Erik twatting it out or to the opposition!

Well i think they'll win the league, opinions are just opinions, some of the best attacking players in the league now managed by the best manager in the world, come back down to earth and realise that teams like Stoke never go in to games against big teams thinking they'll dominate and win, so why are fans so over the top when we lose?

Actually I believe we did go for it 1-2 down and were in with a shout for about 20 minutes after the goal and then petered out.

Second half we were right in that game and guess what...they did what Pep's teams do best... They countered us quickly. Easier to do when you can bring on Nolito against a tiring team. Behave, we lost it wasn't a good result but that also wasn't deserving after the second half showing.

Agree pretty much with this Chris except calling them City of course because we are city but spot on apart from that. Bright spots were Joe Allen's performance and the Egyptian wonder kid did indeed look like he could be an Egyptian wonder kid. Hopefully he will start on Tuesday and we can get a proper look.

Guardiola isn't the best manager in the world. He has a lot to prove and any half decent manager could have achieved what he did with the teams that he inherited. His first decision at the club has led to this farcical goalkeeper situation, and they were pretty poor for large spells of today's game. We just totally collapsed in the last five minutes.

When Man City come up against a side with genuine pace they'll get absolutely mullered. You can't play that high up the park against the better teams.
