I thought we were decent overall today. I thought man city were superb overall.

We are nowhere near Man City, skill wise they were slick with their passing, and ran us ragged, but with the frailties we have got, we need to get in teams faces from now on, we need to bring in a centre half, and someone who knows where the net is, Ings would for me

Let's pull no punches. Take the excuse of a top 4 side right away and cut to the chase.
We looked like conceding every time Citeh attacked and we created absolutely nothing going forward.
Early wake up call before the window closing might just wake us up.
Joe Allen looks good but as discussed before, if he plays who do we drop?

Totally agree Allen looked v good but we still don't know what our best midfield combination is yet a,one have a stable defence and a strike force

We are in dire need of some players with testicles. Losing at home to Man City isn't the end of the world, and I think 4-1 flattered them, particularly on our 2nd half performance. However, it's the manner of the defeat that concerns me. Too few players willing to dig deep when we're up against it. I also don't like 1 up front, especially at home.

Allen is our best midfield player by miles. Imbula really worries me, that was a really poor performance today. I just don't see him coming good for us.

I really rate him but today proved he isn't an advanced midfielder in the slightest. He looked lost from the first minute and gradually and naturally drifted back. By which time it was too late for him, his race was run and it isolated Diouf. Worth trying but not to be repeated.

Sorry but Man City were ok we were poor no doubt we can improve but still 3 or 4 players required , centre half , full back and a couple of forwards.
Need them now

Well at least one of our very tough games is out of the way now. Some pretty unfair comments re Imbula. Not at his best today but was MOM last week.
Hard to judge us based on a game v one of the best sides (if not the best) in the league.
For me I thought our weakest players were Whelan, Ryan and Eric who's footballing skills were shown up a little today.
I'm still not sure what our best formation is but right now I think it's 433 with Imbula as the most advanced in the midfield 3.
I think it's important that we look to improve at striker, CB, DM and LB before the end of the window. Asking to much I think but there were parts of our game that were really exposed today.

I thought 4-1 isn't a true reflection on today and is a bit harsh on us. They weren't 3 goals better than us and I think 2nd half we deserved to get a point. No rose tinted glasses as I think I'm quite realistic in my opinions. Man city showed glimpses of excellence but the scoreline flatters them

If we'd have started the first half the way we started the second half we might have made more of a game of it. So frustrating how slow we start games, we couldn't string three passes together and just stood off them and let them do pretty much what they wanted.
Would of been interesting to see Adam and Sobhi on for the last 20 mins as I thought they were there for the taking, instead Hughes just allowed the game to miander on. Substitutions really aren't his strong point.

This cannot carry on for much longer.
If the only solution is a mutual agreement with LMH, then so be it.

If people are throwing around hyperbolic statements about them winning the league based on 1 performance, lets have some balance.
We haven't got bollocks to fight anymore. Sunderland looked far more composed at their place than we did. It's becoming another season where we fail to even look like a team in the first 6 games where everyone else realised the season has already started.
But we'll probably end up 10th or something so what the fuck does it matter.

The lack of urgency while at 1-2 and the substitutions was very frustrating. I would of liked to have seen Adam on around the 70 minute mark with his competitiveness and goal threat.

You have an answer to everything. There were other factors at play. Just ignore it until May tho. Overeacton. We will sign more players. It's common sense isn't it? To support the lads It is. But you keep making excuses. Sign more players? Until it happens and they gel it will be more goals conceded. Same as excuses pre season, it's just excuses. I support my team but I can also criticise poor performances. That wasn't the worst but there are glaring issues. It just smacks of ignorance to keep coming up with excuses.

Thank God there was no internet when we lost 7-0 at home to Birmingham
Would be like losing by that scoreline to Hull City now
I really aren't going to lose sleep over losing to a class outfit like today, even though we know there are issues

Whenever I see that another team have lost by 3 at home I always instantly think they are going to be in trouble this season. I don't think that losing by that margin at home is acceptable for an established top flight team, regardless of the opposition
